Why Is Honloni Fake?

Honloni is a website that claims to be selling collectable cards and items related to Pokemon, MLB, NBA, NFL and more. The prices on the website are hard to believe, as they are roughly 75% to 80% lower than prices on other, more trusted, websites. ‘Too good to be true’ prices are often the most obvious sign of a scam.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 24th February 2021 in Beijing, China. The registrant’s details such as name and contact details have not been provided. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously from a high-risk country.

whois

The text on the About Us page of the website contains the following snippet of text:

At honloni.com we love every passion and interest on Earth because it is a reference to your UNIQUENESS. And to spread exactly that…is our core vision

This is the same text that is used in hundreds of websites in the Uniqueness Scam Network. You can read more about it here, here, here and here.

  • uniqueness scam network google search

A fresh search revealed that there are still at least 139 online stores using the same text. An IP address analysis shows that 100 out of 124 (80.4%) websites tested share the same IP addresses. This clearly shows that all the websites are operated by the same owners. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.

Further proof that Honloni is a Chinese website is present in the website’s footer. It mentions that the website is powered by Shoptago, which is a Chinese SaaS company.

The footer also falsely states that the website has been active since 2005. This is a blatant lie as the domain name was registered only in February 2021.

The PayPal account associated with the account has a random name ‘Lynn Guy’. This is a big indication that Honloni is not a professionally-run operation.

Honloni does not mention any social media pages on the website. However, I found that Honlini has three separate Facebook pages called ‘Honloni’, ‘Honloni Shop’ and ‘Honloni Store’ created in March 2021 that are being used to run ads for the website.

The pages mention the following:

Honloni store was established in 2017 by Luohe Dingkui Trading Co., Ltd.

The date is obviously a lie since the site was created in 2021. The company named mentioned might also be fake or might be of a shell company.

Honloni’s website does not even have a Contact Us page. There is an email ID roccocfffp14@gmail.com hidden in the Terms & Conditions page. This is the same email address given on the Facebook page.

The only reviews for Honlini that I could find are on the Facebook page itself. All the reviews are negative and state that it is a scam. One customer has gone into a bit of detail, stating that the tracking information provided seems to be fake and that Honloni does not reply to inquiries.

It is quite obvious that Honloni is a fake website that belongs to the Uniqueness Scam Network of Chinese online stores.

Honloni was created in February 2021 in Beijing and is being operated anonymously. The text on the About Us page connects it to the Uniqueness Scam Network and there are at least 139 online stores currently using the same text.

Honloni’s prices are 75% to 80% lower than competitors, which is the clearest sign that it is a scam. The site is being promoted through Facebook ads run by pages called ‘Honloni’, ‘Honloni Shop’ and ‘Honloni Store’. The Facebook pages mention a company name Luohe Dingkui Trading Co., Ltd., which might either be a shell company or completely fake, but once again proves Honloni’s Chinese origin.

The website does not have a Contact Us page. The only contact information provided is a Gmail ID hidden in the Terms & Conditions page. This means that Honlini does not have any real customer support.

Customers have left reviews on the Honloni Store Facebook page stating that it is a scam. One customer has mentioned that they received fake tracking information.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Honloni or any of the 139 related stores as they are part of an organized network of scammy Chinese websites.
