Why Is GetBackFunds Fake?

GetBackFunds is a company that claims to help victims of scams recover their lost money. They claim to have expertise in recovering cryptocurrency, which is surprising because blockchain transactions are impossible to reverse.

The website is very basic and does not provide key information such as the company’s history and team members. It does not even have any real documentation such as Terms & Conditions or a Privacy Policy. This shows that it is not run by professionals.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 3rd October 2019. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden for privacy. Therefore, it is a relatively new website that is being operated anonymously.

whois

Even though the website is just slightly over a year old, the home page states that the company has 5 years of experience. This is clearly a lie.,

The content on the website is not original as the same can be found on at least 10 other websites, all of which may be scams. The list is given at the end of the article.

The text also mentions the wrong company name – ‘Our Fund Recovery’ instead of ‘Get Back Funds’. Once again, it is evident that the website has not been created by professionals and has simply been copied-pasted from another site, possibly a previous scam.

There are social media links for an Instagram page and YouTube channel given on the website. These pages have been created around the same time that the domain was created. This strengthens the belief that GetBackFunds is lying about being a 5-year-old company.

The contact details provided on the website include an email ID, address and phone number. The address is of a location in Arizona and is fake as there is no place called ‘355 Burnside Court’ in Phoenix.

The phone number has the area code of Mississippi instead of Arizona. Also, it is a virtual number that can be operated from anywhere in the world. Therefore, there is little reason to believe that GetBackFunds is actually an American company

The only reviews that I could find for GetBackFunds are available on TrustPilot. These reviews are fake as they have been written around the time that the company claimed the page. They have been written by new accounts with no other reviews, which is quite suspicious.

It seems extremely likely that GetBackFunds is a scam. The website is of poor quality and seems to be copy-pasted from a previous scam called ‘Our Fund Recovery’. The entire content is copied and the same can be found on at least 10 other websites, all of which may be scams.

The website states that the company has been active for 5 years. This is clearly a lie as the website was registered only in October 2019. The social media pages have also been created a few days later and are inactive since then.

The contact details provided by GetBackFunds include a fake address of a location in Arizona. The phone number contradicts this information as it has the area code of Mississippi. The number itself is a virtual number that can be operated from anywhere in the world, which means that GetBackFunds is likely to not be an American company at all.

The only reviews available for the company seem to be fake, as they have been written by new accounts with no other reviews. It is also suspicious that they have been written right around the time that the company claimed their TrustPilot page.

It is advisable to avoid hiring the services of GetBackFunds as it does not seem to be a legitimate business. It is probably a fake website created by investment scammers to take advantage of their victims again.
