Why Is Inergie Fake?
Inergie is a website that claims to be a platform for cloud mining cryptocurrency. The returns being promised by them are as high as 1,994% per year, without even taking compounding into consideration. This kind of return is absolutely ridiculous and seems to be an obvious sign that Inergie is a fraudulent investment scheme.
Inergie also has a referral system where members get a commission on the deposits of their referrals. This is most commonly seen with fraudulent schemes that have no other source of income except investor deposits. Therefore, it seems quite likely that Inergie is a pyramid scheme.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 26th November 2020. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden for privacy. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously.
Even though the website is less than 3 months old, the home page states that Inergie has been in business for more than 7 years. This is clearly a lie.
The content on the website has been copied and the same can be found on at least 25 other websites, all of which may be scams.
Inergie also claims that it is registered in the UK and provides a PDF certificate to prove this. The PDF is fake as it contains a fake registration date of 6th July 2020. The actual company registration data shows that it is an unrelated company called Inergie Limited that was registered in 2007 and is listed as an IT services company.
In any case, a UK registration does not mean much as it can be obtained for £12 and takes 24 hours. Real investment companies in the UK have to be registered with a financial regulator such as the FCA or PRA.
The Privacy Policy page also mentions the wrong company name – ‘Inergie.io Inc.’ instead of ‘Inergie Ltd’. This clearly shows that it is not a professionally-run operation.
The contact details provided on the website include an email ID, phone number and address. The phone number and address both seem to be fake, as the address provided is of the company they are impersonating and the phone number has absolutely no details available on TrueCaller. Therefore, the only real way to contact Inergie is by email.
There are a few reviews available for Inergie on TrustPilot, almost all of which are negative. Reviewers have stated that it is a scam as they have not been paid.
It seems quite obvious that Inergie is a scam. Returns such as 1,994% per year are impossible and only offered by fraudulent schemes. The three-tiered referral commission system of Inergie suggests that it is actually a pyramid scheme, as there does not seem to be any other source of income apart from the deposits of investors.
Inergie is lying about being a 7+ year old company, as the domain name has only been registered less than 3 months back. The content on the website has been copied and there are at least 25 other websites that use the same text.
The company registration document provided is fake. The actual registration is of an unrelated IT services company named Inergie Ltd. which was incorporated in 2007. In any case, legitimate investment companies in the UK have to be registered with a financial regulator such as the FCA or PRA.
The contact details provided are fake as the phone number does not seem to exist and the address given is the same as that of the company Inergie is impersonating. Almost all the reviews available online say that the company is a scam as investors have not been paid.
It is advisable to avoid investing with Inergie, as it seems to be a failed pyramid scheme.
