Why is Winkpur Fake?
Winkpur is a website that claims to be selling gift items at discounts. The website looks like another scam shop set up under the Uniqueness Scam Network of fake online stores from China. For example, the videos and images being used to promote the clothing are stolen from various sources and the prices seem to be randomly inflated.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that winkpur.com was registered on 7th March 2023. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a privacy guard. Therefore, Winkpur is a relatively new website operated anonymously from a high-risk country.
I found that the About Us page of the website contains text that has previously been found on sites in the Uniqueness Scam Network. There are at least 310 similar websites using the same text active at the time of writing, all of which are likely to be scams. The full list of sites is given at the end of the article.
Even though it is apparent that Winkpur is a Chinese-run website selling Made-in-China products, the owners of the site are trying to create a fake impression that the company is based in Cyprus. The Terms & Conditions page states that the site operates as per Cyprus laws and the below company details of Lettymar Limited have been provided:

When I looked up the company information of Lettymar Limited, I found that it shows the following signs of being a Chinese shell company created to launder money from scams to China:
- The company was incorporated in May 2021, almost two years before Winkpur’s website was created
- The company Director seems to be a Chinese national named Yang Hang
While testing the checkout process, I discovered that the PayPal account associated with Winkpur is named ‘CDD’ and this name is not mentioned anywhere on the website.
Though the website does not link to any social media profiles, I found that Winkpur has two different Facebook pages operated from China which are being used for running advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. There is also an indication that the page may have been hacked and taken over.
The Contact Us page of the website contains only the email ID ‘info@winkpur.com’ which might not even be functional. Therefore, there is no real way to contact Winkpur after making a purchase.
I found several negative reviews for Winkpur on their Facebook page. The reviewers have echoed common complaints associated with sites which are part of the Uniqueness Scam Network, such as false advertising, late or no delivery, poor customer service and refusal to provide refunds. It is extremely likely that Winkpur and the 310 similar sites may all be scams operated by the Uniqueness Scam Network from China under the guise of shell companies such as Lettymar Limited.
Winkpur is a new site created anonymously from China in March 2023. The website is poorly-made and the products are depicted using images stolen from sources such as Etsy. The entire website content is duplicated and the same can be found on thousands of scam websites.
There are multiple signs suggesting that Winkpur is a Chinese operation, but it has been misleadingly stated that the website is operated by Lettymar Limited registered in Cyprus, which seems to be a Chinese shell company. I found that there are 310 websites related to Winkpur which may all be scams.
The website does not link to any social media pages, but I found that Winkpur has two separate Facebook pages operated from China. The pages are being used for running advertisements on Facebook and Instagram.
There is no real way to contact the company after making the purchase as only an email ID has been provided for support. Winkpur’s Facebook page contains several negative reviews from customers who never received their orders and Etsy sellers who had their images stolen.
It is advisable to avoid shopping on Winkpur or any of the 310 similar websites as they do not seem to be genuine businesses.
If you think that you have been scammed by any of Lettymar Limited’s sites, you can contact PayPal or your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be located in Cyprus.
