Sketchers UK Outlet
Is Skechersfactoryoutletsuk Fake or Real?
Why is Skechersfactoryoutletsuk Fake?
Skechersfactoryoutletsuk is a website that claims to be selling Skechers brand shoes to shoppers in the UK. The website appears to be a scam from the get-go as Skechers’ real UK website exists on the URL skechers.co.uk. Therefore, Skechersfactoryoutletsuk is a copycat website falsely portraying itself as the original brand.
When we take a look at the prices being offered by Skechersfactoryoutletsuk, it becomes apparent that this is nothing but a scam. The footwear is supposedly being sold at highly discounted prices that are much lower than competitors. ‘Too good to be true’ prices are often the most obvious sign of a scam.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 14th May 2022. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact information have been hidden using a privacy service. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously.
The About Us page of Skechersfactoryoutletsuk contains the following text:
We’ve been serving customers some of the best deals and discounted fashion online since 2012. We’re unique in the marketplace, offering thousands of new styles, authentic brands and a huge variety of fashion for the whole family. Stock runs out quickly, so if you see something you like, buy it! We want to exceed your expectations by giving you great value from a trusted source.
Our customers mean everything to us. You can count on us to consistently provide quality brands, current styles at affordable prices, and great service to fit the way you shop. Serving today’s busy families is our specialty.
Even though the website clearly did not exist before May 2022, it is falsely mentioned on the About Us page that it is active since 2012. I also found that this content has been copied from the sites of legitimate brands such as Rack Room Shoes. Additionally, there are at least 24 sites using the same content, all of which may be scams. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.
Though Skechersfactoryoutletsuk resembles the original website in appearance, a closer look reveals that it is quite poorly made. Important page such as Terms & Conditions are missing, indicating that the website is not run by a genuine business.
While testing the checkout process, I found that the shopping cart is fake. After adding products worth £335 to my cart, a ‘lucky offer’ discount of 61% was added automatically, bringing the total down to £124. The fact that an enormous discount has been added even though the prices are already highly discounted is a huge red flag. Lowering the cart amount may be a tactic to avoid fraud detection.
Another point of concern is that the site only accepts cards and the details have to be entered on the website itself, instead of redirecting to a secure gateway. This could lead to the card details being stolen and misused by scammers. Therefore, it is possible that Skechersfactoryoutletsuk may be a phishing site.
Skechersfactoryoutletsuk has social media icons on its website but they are fake as they lead nowhere. I couldn’t find any social media pages on my own.
There is no company information given anywhere on the website. The Contact Us page only has a form that probably does not even work. Therefore, there is no way to contact Skechersfactoryoutletsuk after making a purchase.
Customer reviews of Skechersfactoryoutletsuk are highly negative. Reviewers have said that the website is a scam as they never received the products after placing the order. If you want to share your review of this website, you can do so in the comments below or on my social media pages.
It is evident that Skechersfactoryoutletsuk and the 24 similar sites are likely to be scams.
Skechersfactoryoutletsuk is a new website created anonymously in May 2022. It is copying the Skechers UK brand and offering prices at unbelievably high (read: fake) discounts. The entire website’s content has been copied from real brands. The same text can be found on at least 24 other websites, all of which may be scams.
The website contains no company information and contact details are missing too. The cart total always reduces automatically to £124 no matter how many items are added. Credit card details have to be entered on the website details, which might mean that Skechersfactoryoutletsuk is a phishing site.
Reviews are exclusively negative as customers never received their items after placing the order, even though the money was deducted instantly. It is advisable to avoid shopping on Skechersfactoryoutletsuk or any of the 24 related websites as there are high chances that you will not receive what you ordered, or might receive counterfeits at best.
If you think that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be located in the UK.
Remember, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.
