Why is register-notice.com (Domain Services) Fake?
This morning, I received a strange email which appeared to inform me that the domain registration for fakewebsitebuster.com was expiring the same day. I knew this was not possible as my domain is registered till next year which made me suspicious that this is some kind of domain renewal scam.
The email was sent from the contact form on my website and came from Regena Bromilow <regena.bromilow@gmail.com>. This is an immediate red flag as this is a personal email ID and not a company email address.
When I read the email more carefully, I realized that it is complete nonsense. The email is confusingly worded to scare the recipient into thinking that their website domain registration is expiring even though this is not the case. The email claims that my domain’s ‘info service’ is expiring which is not a real thing.
The email led me to register-notice.com, which is a website offering subscription plans. However, it is not mentioned anywhere what their services are. The website has two pop-ups that stop users from leaving the website with bizarre warnings. For example:
Failure to complete your Domain name search engine registration by the expiration date may result in cancellation of this proposal making it difficult for your customers to locate you on the web. Do not discard, this notice is not an invoice it is a courtesy reminder to register your domain name search engine registration so your customers can locate you on the web.
The warning is totally absurd because there is no such thing as ‘domain name search engine registration’. Search engines automatically crawl new websites without the need to register your domain anywhere.
Checking the Privacy Policy page revealed that register-notice.com claims to be run by a company named ‘Domain Services’ and provides a service creating ‘legal documents’ but is not explained anywhere what these documents are. There are also some references to Canada but there is nothing to suggest that the company is actually Canadian.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that register-notice.com was registered on 11th February 2023. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a privacy guard. Therefore, it is a new website being run anonymously from an unknown country.
Even though register-notice.com clearly did not exist before February 2023, the website footer falsely mentions that it has been active since 2012. This is a blatant lie to make the website appear more credible.
Upon analyzing the website’s content, I discovered that there are at least three more websites which are exact clones of register-notice.com. These sites are:
- electronicdomains.com
- register-collection.com
- whats-ip.com
While testing the checkout process, I found that payments are processed using a PayPal account named ‘IP Services’. This is highly suspicious as the website mentions the company name as ‘Domain Services’ and there is no mention of ‘IP Services’ anywhere.
Register-notice aka Domain Services has no social media presence. There are no contact details provided on the website either. The only way to reach out to them is via email by filling a contact form.
I found a few reviews for Register-notice on Trustpilot and all of them are negative. The reviewers have stated that Register-notice is a domain renewal scam where they try to get users to sign up for a useless subscription under the pretense of domain renewal.
Conclusion
It is quite apparent that Register-notice as well as its clones Electronicdomains, Register-collection and Whats-ip are domain renewal scams. These sites are sending out fake emails to businesses trying to make it appear as if their domain registrations are expiring. This is done in order to get them to sign up for a subscription for ‘domain name search engine registration’ which is not a real service.
Register-notice’s domain was registered anonymously in February 2023. Even though the domain name was registered only in 2023, the site falsely claims that it is active since 2012. The company name ‘Domain Services’ is mentioned on the website but there is no evidence that it is a real organization. I found three other identical websites that are also involved in the same scam; they are Electronicdomains, Register-collection and Whats-ip.
The PayPal account used for processing payments is named ‘IP Services’ and this name is not mentioned anywhere on the website. There are no contact details provided such as an address, phone number or email ID.
If you think that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact your PayPal or your bank to stop the unauthorized charges and reverse the payments already made. It may not always be possible to get a refund on completed payments but acting swiftly can prevent you from losing more money to subscription charges.

- Lodge a cybercrime complaint online or with the local police office.
- Leave a negative review on review portals such as ScamAdviser, TrustPilot, OnlineThreatAlerts and SiteJabber.
- Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
- Report the scam site to web filtering companies.
