Website Name
oakmontreclaim.com (Oakmont Reclaim)
Website Type
Crypto Recovery Agency
Is oakmontreclaim.com (Oakmont Reclaim) Fake or Real?
Fake
Why is oakmontreclaim.com (Oakmont Reclaim) Fake?
oakmontreclaim.com (Oakmont Reclaim) claims to help victims of online investment scams recover their lost funds, including cryptocurrency. As I have explained previously, cryptocurrency is nearly impossible to recover, which makes promises by new and unknown companies highly suspect.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 29th August 2021. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact information have been hidden using a privacy guard. Therefore, it is a relatively new website that is being operated anonymously from an unknown country.
Even though oakmontreclaim.com clearly did not exist before 2021, it is falsely mentioned on the website that they are operating since 2016. There is no evidence of this being true and seems like a blatant lie to appear credible.
The overall quality of the website is extremely poor and it is obvious that the site was not created by professionals. Important documentation such as the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy are missing.
Upon analyzing the site’s content, I found that there are at least 30 other fake crypto recovery sites using the same text. The list of sites is given at the end of the article. Even the client testimonials have been copied, indicating that Oakmont Reclaim is not a genuine organization. Further, the company’s supposed CEO & Founder Victor Holgate is not a real person as there is no evidence of his existence.
There are other obvious lies on the website too. For example, Oakmont Reclaim claims to be a ‘FCA and CYSEC certified Investment recovery agency’ but no proof for this has been provided. The only certificate present on the website is a fake UK registration certificate. The document has been edited to falsely show that Oakmont Reclaim Limited was registered in March 2012 even though it was only registered in March 2022. This is a clear sign that Oakmont Reclaim is nothing but a scam.
In any case, a UK company registration means next to nothing as it can be purchased online for £12 without needing to submit any verification documents.
Oakmontreclaim does not have a social media presence. There are social media icons given on the website but they are fake as they lead nowhere.
The following contact details are provided:
+44 7451 217303
support@oakmontreclaim.com
985 Stockport Road Manchester M19 2SY
Firstly, the address is fake as it is the location of a convenience store. Additionally, the phone number is a virtual line registered through a Dutch company, which means that the number can be operated from anywhere in the world. The suggests a high likelihood that Oakmont Reclaim may be a scam site run by fraudsters from Africa.
I could not find any reviews for Oakmont Reclaim. There are no reviews written by clients of Oakmontreclaim on sites like ScamAdviser and Trustpilot. If you want to share your review of this website, you can do so in the comments below or on my social media pages.
Conclusion
It seems quite obvious that Oakmont Reclaim and the 30 similar websites are likely to be fake money recovery agencies trying to scam people who have already been scammed. The site is being operated anonymously since August 2021 and there is no evidence that it is a real company.
Even though the website was created only in 2021, they falsely claim that the company is active since 2016. Further, a fake UK company registration certificate has been provided where the registration year has been changed from 2022 to 2012.
The website is of low quality as it contains copied content and missing pages. Important documentation such as the Privacy Policy and ToS are not present. The testimonials and Founder’s name are fake too, making it obvious that Oakmont Reclaim is not a professional business
Oakmont Reclaim does not have a social media presence and no reviews for it could be found. The address provided is fake and the phone number is a virtual line that can be operated from anywhere in the world.
It is advisable to avoid hiring the services of Oakmont Reclaim and 30 similar sites as there are no reasons to believe that they are legitimate crypto recovery agencies.
How to Get Your Money Back from a Scam
Remember: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
If you have been a victim of a money recovery scam, you can take the following steps:
- File a formal police complaint with the Cybercrime department.
- File a complaint with the payment portal. However, recovery scammers mostly use cryptocurrency which makes getting a refund impossible.
- Leave a negative review on review portals such as ScamAdviser and TrustPilot
- Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
- Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
- If the company has a listing on Google My Business or Google Maps, file a complaint using the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Also, leave a negative review explaining what kind of experience you had.
