While researching shopping scams, I have come across numerous ‘scam networks’ of fake websites. Essentially, a ‘scam network’ is a collection of independent websites created by a single entity for the explicit purpose of scamming customers. Scam networks can operate many different kinds of scams – shopping scams, investment scams, phishing and more.
All the shopping scam networks I have come across appear to originate from China and most of them operate under the names of various shell companies registered in countries such as Hong Kong, Cyprus, Germany, the UK and Ireland. One such shell company seems to be Bin Estrella GmbH Scam which is registered in Germany.
The easiest way to identify a website operated by Bin Estrella GmbH is to check whether the About Us, Contact Us, Terms & Conditions or Privacy Policy page has the below company information:

The above information is usually formatted as an image to hide the company name from search engines. If you see Bin Estrella GmbH mentioned on the website or on your invoice/statement, there is a high likelihood that you may have fallen for a scam.
I have come across a certain snippet of text in the About Us page that also gives away that a website is being operated by the Chinese scammers hiding behind Bin Estrella GmbH:

The company focuses primarily on holiday decorations, holiday gifts, but also offers other fashion products. Our goal has always been to provide our customers with amazing high quality fashion products at solid prices. [website name] offers stylish styles, edgy innovative designs, and a truly first class professional service.

Upon analyzing the content, I found that there are hundreds of websites using the same content, all which are presumably scams related to Bin Estrella GmbH. The list of sites is given at the end of the article and the list us updated regularly as new websites are always being created. There are certainly hundreds of more hidden sites similar to these. In the below screenshots, you can see multiple websites carrying the same text.
Looking up the provided company information revealed that Bin Estrella GmbH was registered in Germany in December 2016. However, it seems to have relations to scammy shell companies in the Uniqueness Scam Network from China. There are a few hints in the company registration information that Bin Estrella GmbH is also likely to be a shell company incorporated by Chinese owners.
When I looked up the address of Bin Estrella GmbH – Pallaswiesenstraβe 180,64293 Darmstadt’ Germany – I found that the company’s address may be a virtual address as there are no signs of the company actually being located there.
Bin Estrella GmbH’s Director is listed as a person named Xuibin Zhuang which sounds like a Chinese name. By joining the various dots together, it can be surmised that Bin Estrella GmbH is likely to be a shell company registered in Germany by Chinese owners being (mis)used by organized Chinese cybercriminals to launder the proceeds of scams to China.
Bin Estrella GmbH’s associated scam sites are promoted mainly through Facebook ads. Each website usually has multiple Facebook pages created for it and they are all used for running advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. The reason for creating multiple pages is to have backups in case a page gets deleted so that ads can continuously keep running. Hacked pages have also been observed running ads for scam websites.
Shockingly, Facebook is unintentionally allowing its users to be defrauded and is indirectly profiting from shopping scams. Ads don’t always get taken down even after being reported and the reporting system itself is a joke because the scammers are able to create new pages with ease to run more ads. A more proactive approach needs to be taken by Facebook because whatever systems they have in place are clearly not enough to protect their users from dangerous websites related to Bin Estrella GmbH.
There are thousands of negative reviews about Bin Estrella GmbH’s websites and the company itself. Common customer complaints include false advertising, products being shipped from China, late or no delivery, poor customer service and refusal to provide refunds.
If you think that any of Bin Estrella GmbH’s related sites have scammed you, you can contact PayPal or your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be located in Germany.
