Why Is Myquickrefund Fake?

YouTube video

Myquickrefund is a website that claims to offer fund recovery services for victims of scams. As I have written previously, cryptocurrency is nearly impossible to recover, which makes promises by new and unknown companies highly dubious. I found that there are two similar websites called Myquickrefund and Recoupinvestments that are identical in content.

The domain registration data shows that Myquickrefund was created on 26th August 2020 while Recoupinvestments was registered more recently on 16th March 2021. Both the domains have been registered anonymously. Recoupinvestments has been registered through a Malaysian registrar, hinting that it may be the country of origin for that website.

The overall quality of Myquickrefund’s website is quite poor as there is no real information about the company or team members. I found that the Privacy Policy document is fake as it appears to have been lifted directly from some other website. It is dated 1st January 2020, which is a blatant lie as the website didn’t even exist before August 2020. This clearly shows that Myquickrefund is not a genuine organization.

The website is run completely anonymously as there is not the name of a single team member mentioned anywhere. There is no company information either, probably because no such company actually exists. There is only a stock image of a team of lawyers that can also be found on several other websites.

The only social media page mentioned on the website is Myquickrefund’s Facebook page. This is quite odd as any legitimate organization in such a field will first create a LinkedIn page. The page was created in August 2021, which is 8 months after the website was created. It has just 82 likes and is being operated from Ukraine. The page is also being used to run advertisements on Facebook.

The contact information given on the website includes two addresses and two phone numbers. Even though the Facebook page is operated from Ukraine, the website claims that Myquickrefund has offices in USA and Israel. The addresses are incomplete and likely to be fake. There is a fair chance that Myquickrefund doesn’t actually have any offices at all.

The phone numbers are equally confusing as they carry the country codes of Sweden and Australia. They might be virtual VoIP lines that can be operated from anywhere in the world. They could also be completely fake.

The only reviews for Myquickrefund that I could find online are on their own Facebook page. The reviewers have plainly stated that it is a scam recovery service.

Conclusion

It seems extremely likely that Myquickrefund is a fake recovery agency. The site is barely over a year old and is being operated anonymously. The website also contains fake information, such as a false date on the Privacy Policy document. There is no information given about the company that operates the website, giving the impression that it is not a legitimate organization at all.

Even though Myquickrefund’s Facebook page is operated from Ukraine, the website states that the company has offices in USA and Israel. However, there is nothing to suggest that this is true. Further, the phone numbers provided carry the country codes of Sweden and Australia, which further makes Myquickrefund’s claims look like a lie.

There is another website called Recoupinvestments that has entirely the same content as Myquickrefund and is also likely to be a scam. It is advisable to avoid engaging the services of Myquickrefund and Recoupinvestments, as there are high odds they may be run by fraudsters.

How to Get Your Money Back from a Scam

Remember: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you have been a victim of an investment scam, you can take the following steps:

  1. File a complaint with the payment portal. However, investment scammers mostly use methods such as Bitcoin, Western Union, MoneyGram and other untraceable methods which make refunds impossible.
  2. File a formal police complaint with the Cybercrime department.
  3. Leave a negative review on review portals such as Scamadviser and TrustPilot
  4. Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
  5. Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
  6. If the company has a listing on Google My Business or Google Maps, file a complaint using the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Also, leave a negative review explaining what kind of experience you had.
