What is the Labubu Limited Scam Network?

Fellow scam fighter Suzie recently got in touch with me to share her findings about another Chinese scam network of e-commerce websites. This network consists of at least 81 websites run by the company Labubu Limited and is therefore termed as the Labubu Limited Scam Network. The full list is given at the end of the article.

Labubu Limited is a registered company in the UK. The company is registered under the address Suite 2a, Wensley House, 9 Purdeys Way, Rochford, Essex, United Kingdom, SS4 1ND. The company was incorporated on 8th November 2019 under the name of Chinese national called Yueping Song.

There are several red flags with the registration which makes it seem like a shell company, probably set up for money laundering. The registered address has no evidence of the company being located there, as checked on Google Maps. The location has been claimed on Google under the company named Helianths, which is another website run by Labubu Limited. There is also a phone number given in the Google listing which seems to be fake.

I found that there are at least 81 websites being operated by Labubu Limited. These websites all use the same two templates and supposedly sell products at more than 50% discount. Such low prices are common with scam websites and makes Labubu Limited look extremely suspicious. Most of the websites in this network have .co.uk domains, which might mean that they primarily target people in the UK.

The customer reviews of these websites are scathingly negative as most of them have more than 90% 1-star reviews on TrustPilot. The complaints are common for all of Labubu Limited’s websites – false advertising, non-delivery of products, wrong products being delivered and terrible customer support. Customers have stated that they had to repeatedly follow-up with the company to know the status of their orders. The packages took ages to arrive and were nowhere near as advertised. One customer has also alleged that Labubu Limited put a recurring charge on his card.

I was able to compile a list of 81 websites that are being run by Labubu Limited. These websites all contain the same content and 74 out of 81 websites (91%) share the same IP address – 23.227.38.32. This provides confirmation that all the websites are indeed operated by the same owners. Some of these websites also have Alexa ranks that show they are considerably popular.

labubu limited scam network findings

I am sure that there are many more websites being operated by them that are undetected. The next time you’re shopping online, check the About Us and Contact Us page of the website to see if you can spot the name Labubu Limited. If you spot this name, it might be better to avoid shopping there, as it is likely to be a scam.

How to Get Your Money Back from a Scam

Remember: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you have been the victim of an ecommerce scam, you can take the following steps:

  1. Lodge a complaint at the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal
  2. File a complaint with the payment portal and ask whether the payment can be reversed.
  3. File a complaint with the Consumer Complaints Forum
  4. Leave a negative review on review portals such as ScamAdvisor, TrustPilot, OnlineThreatAlerts and SiteJabber
  5. Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
  6. Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
