Why is Freelancetypers Fake?

YouTube video

Freelancetypers is a website that claims to pay users who sign up on the platform for data entry work. The website is of extremely low quality. The site’s content is nonsensical and contains several errors in spelling and grammar. This shows that it was not created by genuine professionals.

The website footer states that the site is operated by ‘Freelancetypers Pvt Limited’ but I could not find any evidence that such a company exists in real life. This is another indication that Freelance Typers may be nothing but a scam.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 29th September 2020 in Tamil Nadu, India. The registrant’s details such as name and contact information have not been provided. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously.

whois

The home page of Freelancetypers has a section called ‘Amazing customer review’. First of all, it is absurd that they would call workers on the platforms ‘customers’. This implies that the company demands payments from workers which is not something any legitimate company does.

This section shows that Freelancetypers has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 on ClearlyRated based on more than 893,000 reviews. This is blatantly false as there is no listing for the company on ClearlyRated. It seems that all the information given on Freelancetypers’ website is false.

There is a FAQ page on the website which is shockingly bad as it is among the most useless FAQ pages I have ever read. The questions are nonsensical and the answers are written terribly. It looks to me as though this page exists only so that the website appears in Google search when people looking for freelance work search for keywords given on the FAQ page.

It became totally obvious to me that Freelancetypers is a scam when I saw that all the important documentation on the website is fake. For example, the Privacy Policy page is a direct copy-paste of the Terms & Conditions page.

The website is missing several pages that are linked in the footer. All the pages instead link to the pathetic FAQ page, clearly demonstrating that the website was created by amateurs.

Freelancetypers does not have any social media presence. There are social media links given on the website. However, these are fake as they lead nowhere.

There is no real company information given anywhere on the website. Even the Contact Us page of the website does not contain any contact details. The only way to contact Freelancetypers is by using a form.

Reviews on ScamAdviser, SiteJabber and TrustPilot also confirm that Freelancetypers is a scam. Users have complained that they were locked out of their accounts as soon as they reached the payment threshold. Others have mentioned that they were asked to pay a registration fee on the platform of ₹1,880 but did not receive any work or money from Freelancetypers.

It is also worth noting that the scammers behind Freelancetypers have marked the website as closed on Trustpilot after being bombarded with negative reviews by victims.

Conclusion

It is blatantly obvious that Freelancetypers is a scam. The site is relatively new and has several negative reviews written about it. Workers have complained that the scammers took money from them for providing data entry work but ran away with the money.

The website is made extremely poorly and contains copied content which can be found on at least 6 other sites which are themselves shady. All the information given on the website is fake and no such company actually exists. The website is run anonymously and there is no way to contact them for a refund.

It is advisable to avoid signing up on Freelancetypers as it is a scam that will waste your time and steal your money.
