Why Is Fmelastore Fake?

Fmelastore is a website that claims to be selling Men’s Shirts at unbelievably low prices. For example, they are selling a pack of 3 shirts at just ₹1,099 (roughly $15) whereas the price of just 1 of these shirts is $24.99 on NewChic.

This comparison is not entirely accurate as NewChic does not sell in India, which is where Fmelastore is operating. However, vast price differences often indicate a scam. Another point to note is that I could not find any Indian sites selling the same shirts, except for dubious ones.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 30th January 2021. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a paid service. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously.

whois

The website is of poor quality. The text on the About Us page of the website has been copied and can be found on at least 13 other websites, most of which have been reported as scams.

The Privacy Policy page of the website contains multiple references to fashionmela.store. This makes no sense because the actual URL of the site is fmelastore.com. This shows that the site is not run by professionals. It could also be the URL of a previous scam site that is now shut down.

fmelastore scam wrong website name

Fmelastore does not seem to have a social media presence. The contact details provided on the website include an email ID, phone number and address. All of these details seem to be fake for the following reasons:

  • The email ID was found to be inactive when tested
  • The phone number is marked as ‘Fraud’ in TrueCaller
  • The address is being used by another website that might also be a scam
  • fmelastore scam fake contact details
  • fmelastore scam fake phone number
  • fmelastore scam fake email ID
  • fmelastore scam fake address

The only reviews that I could find for Fmelastore are on this YouTube video (now deleted). Customers have complained that they received items that are nothing like what is shown on the site. When they tried to get a refund, they found that none of the contact methods worked.

It seems quite obvious that Fmelastore is a scam. The prices of the shirts are too good to be true, which is often the most obvious sign of a scam. Also, the website is new and being operated anonymously.

The content used on the website as well as the images of the products are not original. The same can be found on at least 23 other websites, all of which may be scams. In fact, many of them have several complaints against them and I have written about one of them (BestShirtDeal) previously.

The contact details provided on the website are all fake. The email ID does not exist, the phone number is marked as ‘Fraud’ in TrueCaller and the same address is being used by another website that also looks like a scam.

Customers of Fmelastore have written that they received low-quality shirts that are nothing like advertised. They were unable to get a refund as none of the contact methods worked.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Fmelastore or any of the 23 related websites, as they are all likely to be scams.
