Why Is Citykoko Fake?

Citykoko is a website that claims to be selling women’s clothing items such as tops, dresses, hoodies, jackets and more. The products on the site are the same as those sold on countless dubious Chinese online stores.

The images on the website look deceptive, as they are edited images of designs superimposed onto models and not actual photos of the products.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 23rd October 2020. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have not been provided. Therefore, it is a relatively new website that is being operated anonymously.

Much like the products, the content on the website is not original either. The text on the About Us page is the same as those used in sites by the infamous Chinese e-commerce company ChicV Ltd. There are also clear connections to the Orderplus Scam Network, showing that ChicV and Orderplus are indeed related.

I found that there are at least 79 websites that seem to be directly related to Citykoko. The list is given at the end of the article. An IP address analysis of 72 websites revealed that 58 of them (80.5%) have shared IP addresses. This suggests that the sites are being operated by the same owners.

No customer reviews for Citykoko could be found, which is a bit surprising for a website that is almost five months old.

It is extremely likely that Citykoko might be a scam. It appears to be a part of the ChicV and Orderplus scam networks from China that consist of thousands of online stores selling the same products.

These sites are notorious for giving shoppers a bad experience, with common complaints being delayed delivery, no delivery, false advertising, low-quality products, poor customer service and refusal to provide refunds.

The only contact information provided on the website is an invalid email ID. This means that Citykoko does not provide any form of customer support.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Citykoko or any of the related 79 websites, as they seem to belong to the ChicV/Orderplus scam networks.
