Why is Donhek Fake?
Donhek is a website that claims to be selling Italian leather handbags at low prices. I found this website through a fake advertisement on Facebook saying that the business is shutting down. Donhek has advertised on Facebook and Instagram using at least 4 different accounts, 2 of which are already banned.
The images are stolen from a real Italian business called Pelletterie Gio’ who also run the website Gioshop.eu. According to customer reviews, Donhek is selling counterfeit leather bags that are nothing like the images.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 12th January 2022 from Guangdong, China. The registrant’s details such as name and contact information have not been provided. Therefore, it is a new website operated anonymously from a high-risk country.
Even though it is apparent that Donhek is a Chinese website, the owners are deliberately misleading shoppers by claiming that the business is located in New York. The scammers running this site have poor attention to detail and they have contradicted themselves by claiming on a different page that Donhek operates as per UK laws. Clearly, Donhek is a Chinese website trying to dupe shoppers in the Western world.

Firstly, this is the same text found on websites in the Uniqueness Scam Network, a large network of scam sites run by organized cybercriminals from China which I have written about several times in the past. Additionally, I discovered at least 501 websites using the same content as Donhek, which are likely to be related scams. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.
While testing the checkout process, I found that the PayPal account associated with the website is named ‘Xingluoqibu‘. This also appears to be a Chinese name and is not mentioned anywhere on the site. Therefore, Donhek is using a random PayPal account for transactions.
There are no social media icons given on Donhek’s website, but the scammers are operating multiple Facebook pages as mentioned at the start of the article. The Contact Us page of the website contains the email ID ‘support@donhek.com‘. There is also a phone number ‘+1 978-495-0903’ which may be fake or a virtual number as it is registered in Massachusetts, USA.
There are several reviews for Donhek posted on ScamAdviser and Trustpilot. The reviews are almost exclusively negative and state common complaints associated with websites that are part of the Uniqueness Scam Network. Customers say that they were bait-and-switched with low-quality goods. Complaints also include false advertising, late delivery, poor customer service and refusal to provide refunds. Conclusion
There are several signs suggesting that Donhek and the 501 similar sites might all be scams operated by the Uniqueness Scam Network from China. Donhek is a new site created anonymously form Guangong, China in January 2022. I found that there are 501 websites that have the same content as Donhek and are likely to be operated by the same owners.
Donhek has stolen images from a genuine Italian leather handbag business called Pelletterie Gio’ and is running fake ads on Facebook and Instagram impersonating them. The website tries to give a false impression that Donhek is a USA/UK-based operation.
Even though no social media pages are linked on the website, I found that Donhek has four separate Facebook advertising accounts. An email ID and phone number have been provided for support. However, customers have complained in reviews that they were bait-and-switched and received poor customer support. It is advisable to avoid shopping on Donhek or any of the 501 similar websites as they seem to be blatantly misleading online shoppers with fake ads.
If you think that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact PayPal or your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be located in the USA and UK.
