Why is Definite Area Fake?
Definite Area (definitearea.com) is a website that claims to be an investment firm that generates profits for investors. The Terms & Conditions page of the website states that it is run by ‘Definite Area Company‘, however, no company information such as registration and license numbers are provided. There is no proof that ‘Definite Area Company’ exists, which is the first sign that definitearea.com is nothing but a scam.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that was registered on 11th March 2022. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact information have been hidden using a privacy guard. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously from an unknown country.
I was alerted about this scam by a victim who lost thousands of Euros to these ruthless scammers. The victim was shown fake profits on the platform and asked to deposit more and more money. When they requested to withdraw the profit, they were asked to pay fee after fee and never received their money. The scammers ultimately stopped responding altogether.
The victim was in touch with a ‘Senior Account Manager’ calling themself ‘Nicholas Morel’ (nicolas.morel@definitearea.com). However, this seems to be a fake identity as there is no online profile for this person.
Several others have detailed the same experience on Trustpilot and ScamAdviser, making it clear that Definite Area is a scam. Most of the reviews are in French, suggesting that the scammers may be from a French-speaking African country as most investment scam websites originate from Africa.
As part of the Definite Area scam, the victim was also contacted by the email ID ‘noreply@blockchain-financials.net’ to make bitcoin deposits. A domain name lookup of blockchain-financials.net shows that was registered on 25th July March 2022. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact information have been hidden using a privacy guard. Therefore, it is also a new website that is being operated anonymously from an unknown country.
Furthermore, blockchain-financials.net does not even have an active website. The domain seems to have been purchased solely for the purpose of sending and receiving emails as part of Definite Area and other scams.
The scammers have written several fake positive reviews on Trustpilot, which falsely leads people to think that it is a legitimate company. Trustpilot even has a banner on top confirming that the page has been spammed with fake paid reviews. However, several 55% of the reviews are fake and still remain, continuing to mislead people.
There are fake reviews on ScamAdviser too but of a different kind. Scammers have posted negative reviews intended to promote fake recovery services such as Trackitback, which I have already exposed as a scam. The victim mentioned in their email that they were almost duped by this.
Definite Area’s website has no company information and only anonymous communication methods are provided. The below contact information is present on the website, which includes two email IDs and two phone numbers registered in the UK and Netherlands.

Conclusion
It seems quite obvious that Definite Area and Blockchain Financials (blockchain-financials.net) are advance fee scams. There are several signs suggesting it is not a genuine investment company. The website is new and is being operated anonymously from an unknown country.
The website provides absolutely no company information and anonymous contact methods are used to hide the website operators’ identities. Further, they are using fake identities to communicate with investors.
There are several fake reviews written for Definite Area on Trustpilot. Even though Trustpilot has flagged and removed several reviews, 55% of the reviews on Definite Area’s Trustpilot page currently are fake. The genuine reviews found on Trustpilot and ScamAdviser make it clear that the website is a scam.
They persuade investors to deposit more and more money, demand endless fees when they request a withdrawal and then stop responding when the victim realizes they have been scammed.
Definite Area has no social media presence and can only be contacted anonymously. The website has no official documentation and there is no information about who manages the company.
It is advisable to avoid investing through Definite Area as there are no reasons to believe that it is a genuine investment firm. Several people from around the world have already lost significant sums of money to these scammers. As a general rule, never send crypto to strangers as it cannot be recovered.
