Why is Boarkitdomes Fake?
Boarkitdomes is a website that claims to be selling a random assortment of Chinese items at low prices. It seems like a scam from the get-go as the site seems to be running an Amazon Pallet Scam targeted at Germans.
When the website is accessed directly, there are random products listed like envelopes, tripods and axes and all the products are marked as sold out. The only products that can be actually bought are Amazon Pallets and these pages are hidden in such a way that they can only be accessed by clicking Facebook Ads.
There are multiple indications that the website is part of the Uniqueness Scam Network of fake shopping sites created by organized Chinese cybercriminals.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that boarkitdomes.com was registered on 18th May 2022. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a privacy guard. However, the Terms & Conditions page of the website states that the site operates as per the laws of China. Therefore, it is a relatively new website being run anonymously from a high-risk country.
The About Us page contains the same text as websites associated with the Uniqueness Scam Network and upon analyzing the content, I found that there are at least 316 similar websites, all of which are likely to be scams. The list of websites is given at the end of the article.
There are no company details given anywhere on the website. While testing the checkout process, I discovered that a random PayPal account named ‘Harvest mood’ is being used for collecting payments. The account is likely to be used on other websites operated by the same scammers too.
Though the website does not link to any social media profiles, I found that Boarkitdomes has at least three separate Facebook pages which are being used for running advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. The pages mention a fake Spanish address even though the site is clearly operated from China.
Additionally, there are no contact details given on the website except the email ID support@boarkitdomes.com. Sites run by the Uniqueness cybercriminals have a poor reputation for customer service, therefore the email ID is practically useless.
I found several customer reviews for Boarkitdomes online and they are exclusively negative. The site has an abysmal rating of 1.8/5 based on 15 reviews.
Most of the reviews are in German and the customers have angrily stated that they received random worthless products instead of the Amazon pallets that they ordered. They have also complained that there was no way to get a refund from the company.
As the site seems to be operated by the Uniqueness Scam Network, customers can expect false advertising, products being shipped from China, late or no delivery, poor customer service and refusal to provide refunds. It is quite obvious that Boarkitdomes and the 316 similar sites are likely to be scams operated by Chinese cybercrime networks.
Boarkitdomes is a new site created anonymously from China in May 2022. It is running an Amazon Pallet Scam targeted at Germans and shows signs of being operated by organized Chinese cybercriminals. I found that there are at least 246 websites using the same content as Boarkitdomes and are likely to be operated by the same fraudsters.
No social media pages are linked on the website even though I found that 3 different Facebook pages are being used to advertise fake Amazon pallets on Boarkitdomes.
Several customers have complained that Boarkitdomes is a bait-and-switch scam as the products are not as advertised. The only way to contact Boarkitdomes is by email and it is unlikely that they will respond.
It is advisable to avoid shopping on Boarkitdomes or any of the 316 similar websites as they do not seem to be genuine businesses.
If you think that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant has not provided company details such as the name and address.
