Why is Alikesale Fake?
Alikesale.com is a website that claims to be selling mass-produced Chinese clothing such as underwear, shoes, dresses and more at discounts. Oddly, the items on Alikesale are overpriced compared to competitors such as Aliexpress even though Alikesale claims to be offering large discounts.
Alikesale looks like another scam shop set up under the Uniqueness Scam Network of Chinese shopping scam websites. For example, the URL of the website is ‘alikesale.com’, however, the logo says ‘Alikestores’ and the website title says ‘Summerfashion’. This shows that the site is not run by a legitimate business.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 1st August 2022. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a privacy guard. However, there are multiple indications of the site being operated from China. Therefore, Alikesale is a relatively new website being run anonymously from a high-risk country.
The About Us page contains the same text as websites associated with the Uniqueness Scam Network and upon analyzing the content, I found that there are at least 191 similar websites, all of which are likely to be scams. The list of websites is given at the end of the article. The page also falsely states that the brand was founded in 2016 even though there is no proof of this being true.
Even though there are credible signs that Alikesale is operated from China, the website falsely states that it operates as per the laws of the UK and the below information of Kentesh Limited are provided:

Registration Number: 12948235
Company Address: Signature 15 St. Helens Place, London, England EC3A 6DQ (this is not a returning address)
As I have revealed previously, Kentesh Limited appears to be a shell company registered from China that has been found to be associated with a large number of fake online stores, as well as other shell companies like Mexong Ltd.
While testing the checkout process, I found that the name of the PayPal account associated with the website is ‘Xinlan Industrial Co., Ltd.’ which seems to be a random Chinese account.
Though there are no social media pages linked on Alikesale’s website, I found that at least 4 different Facebook pages for it exist which are being used for advertising on Facebook and Instagram. The pages may have been hacked or purchased as they are much older than the website itself and the name of one of the pages was changed recently. The page information confirms that they are operated from China and the below details of a Chinese company are provided:

Facebook is allowing these dubious pages to serve ads to their users.
The Contact Us page of the website carries no information except the email ID dgyqxpkuu@outlook.com which is a free email address and is likely not to be monitored. There are no other contact details anywhere else on the website either. Therefore, there seems to be no real way to contact Alikesale.
I found a few reviews for Alikesale on Trustpilot and they are all negative. One reviewer has said that they never received an order confirmation even though they were charged for the items. Another customer received damaged goods and Alikesale refused them a refund unless they shipped the items back to China at their own cost. This is a common tactic used by Chinese shopping scammers to discourage returns and refunds.
As the site seems to be operated by the Uniqueness Scam Network, customers can expect false advertising, products being shipped from China, late or no delivery, poor customer service and refusal to provide refunds. It is apparent that Alikesale and the 191 similar sites are all likely to be scams operated by Chinese cybercrime networks under the façade of shell companies such as Kentesh Limited registered in the UK.
Alikesale is a new site created anonymously from China in August 2022. The website owners have obscured the site’s Chinese origin and are claiming that it is managed by a UK-based business named Kentesh Limited. However, Kentesh Limited has been found to be a shell company created from China and is associated with numerous fake online shops. There is a false statement in the website’s statement in the T&C that the site operates as per UK laws.
All the content on the website is copied and items are overpriced, suggesting that it wasn’t created by genuine professionals. Only an email ID is provided for support and customer reviews for Alikesale are exclusively negative. Reviews confirm that the site is selling low-quality items made in China. In one case, the customer did not even receive an order confirmation while in the another case, the company refused to provide a refund for damaged goods unless the customer paid out of pocket to ship the products back to China.
It is advisable to avoid shopping on Alikesale or the 191 similar sites as they do not seem to be genuine businesses.
If you think that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact PayPal your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be located in the UK.
