Why is Voskcoins Fake?

YouTube video

Voskcoins.co is a website that claims to help clients generate profits by renting the company’s infrastructure for cloud mining Bitcoin. While bitcoin cloud mining is a legitimate concept, I have covered several bitcoin cloud mining scams that steal investors’ money. Voskcoins.co too seems to be nothing more than an illegal investment scheme thinly disguised as a bitcoin cloud mining platform.

It doesn’t take much searching to figure out why Voskcoins shows signs of being a scam. They are promising returns as high as 9% daily for 7 days which is simply absurd. Such unrealistically high and unsustainable returns are only offered by scammers. Voskcoins also shows several other signs of being a fraudulent ‘get rich quick’ scheme, such as making claims of effortless ‘passive income’.

As is the case with most fraudulent crypto mining schemes, Voskcoins also has an ‘affiliate program’ that rewards investors with up to 5% commission on deposits made by referrals. This suggests that Voskcoins might be a Pyramid scheme, if not an outright fraud.

During my search to verify the legitimacy of Voskcoins, I found that the website is impersonating a YouTube channel. The channel VoskCoin on Youtube was created by Drew Vosk in 2017 and has 600,000 subscribers.

The only URL associated with this channel is voskco.in and Voskcoins.co has no relation to it. This was confirmed to me by the official VoskCoin Twitter account. VoskCoin also operates the Voskcoin Talk forum at voskcointalk.com.

*Update* The tweet below from the official VoskCoin account also confirms that voskcoins.co is a scam.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 20th February 2020. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a paid service. Therefore, it is a relatively new website that is being operated anonymously.

Voskcoins’ website is poorly made and I found that the text content has been copied from other websites. There are at least 50 other scammy websites using the same content as Voskcoins. The list of these sites is given at the end of the article. One of these sites – voskcoin.network – is almost identical and may be operated by the same scammers or an ‘affiliate’.

Even the testimonials on the website are clearly fake. The same testimonials can be found on other websites and also on Trustpilot for known scam sites.

Voskcoins claims to be a licensed company but I believe this is a false claim. The only proof given on the website is a UK registration certificate. The certificate shows that the company was registered on 1st April 2022 and is clearly newly created. In any case, a UK certification means almost nothing as anyone can obtain a company certificate by paying just £12. There is no company verification required for registration.

Another indication of Voskcoins being a fake platform is that the company name given on the T&C and Privacy Policy pages doesn’t match the company name on the certificate. There is no reason to believe that Voskcoins is running a legitimate bitcoin cloud mining operation.

Voskcoins does not seem to have a social media presence. There are no social media pages listed on the website and I could not find any independently either. The contact information given on the website only includes two email IDs and a live chat feature. It is quite apparent that the scammers behind Voskcoins are using anonymous communication methods to hide their identities.

There are several reviews for Voskcoins online. The reviews on ScamAdviser paint a clear picture of Voskcoins being an Advance Fee Scam. Investors are asked to pay fee after fee to withdraw their non-existent profits.

Surprisingly, the Trustpilot rating of Voskcoins is quite high with 96% of reviews being positive. However, fake reviews can easily be bought online and knowing this, I decided to filter and view only the negative reviews. These reviews echo the same complaints as those of users on ScamAdviser, hinting that Voskcoins is gaming Trustpilot with fake reviews.

Conclusion

It seems quite clear that Voskcoins and the 50 similar websites are highly likely to be scams. There are several signs suggesting that Voskcoins is run by scammers and is not a genuine bitcoin mining platform. The website is impersonating a Youtuber named Drew Vosk who runs the channel VoskCoin. The company information provided by Voskcoins is completely fake and it has no relation to the Youtube channel.

Voskcoins is promising unsustainably high profits such as 9% daily for 7 days. The entire website content has been copied from other sites, clearly suggesting that Voskcoins’ website has been made by amateurish scammers.

Voskcoins has no social media presence and the reviews are largely negative. There is some reason to believe that Voskcoins is manipulating Trstupilot ratings. Investors have written that they were asked to pay endless fees and never received any profits. Those who wrote negative reviews were also threatened with having their Voskcoins account deleted.

It is advisable to avoid investing with Voskcoins and the 50 similar sites as there are no reasons to believe that they are genuine bitcoin cloud mining firms. As a general rule, never send crypto to strangers as it cannot be recovered.
