Why is Shshads Fake?

YouTube video

Shshads is a website that claims to be selling riding gear such as racing boots, cycling shoes, racing jackets and more. A name like ‘Shshads’ – which is a meaningless jumble of letters – often signals that the store may be a scam from China. Besides this, the website appears to be a scam also because the prices are too good to be true. The website is listing branded products under generic names, which might mean that they are selling counterfeits.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 24th May 2022 in Shandong, China. The registrant’s details such as name and contact information have not been provided. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously from a high-risk country.

whois

Even though it is clear that the website is operated from China, the Terms & Conditions page falsely states that Shshads is a business based in France.

Shshads scam fake france terms

The following text is present on the home page of Shshads.com:

We bellieve that we are born to chase what we are true to,it’s not that we want to…we have to….

It is this irrational pursuit of our passions that unites us all.

Here we are the collective vision of our entire eclectic and diverse global community.

Upon analyzing the website’s content, I found that the same text is being used on at least 97 other websites, all of which may be scams. The full list of sites is given at the end of the article.

On the page on the website titled ‘Covid-19 Delivery & Safety Updates’, it becomes apparent that the website’s content has been lazily recycled from an older site. The page states that ‘we are committed to getting your jewelry to you’ even though Shshads does not sell jewellery at all.

Shshads scam fake disclaimer

The overall website quality of Shshads is quite poor as there are several signs that the website has not been created by e-commerce professionals. I found something alarming while testing the checkout process on the website. When I tried to completely a payment on Shshads, it redirected me to a different site called giuwr.com. It is not a common practice for e-commerce portals to accept payments through a different website and this struck me as the sign of a scam.

Shshads scam checkout page giuwr

When I visited this website, I saw that Giuwr is an exact copy of Shshads. This is a strong indication that Shshads, Giuwr and the 97 related websites may all be operated by a scam ring from China.

There are social media icons on Shshads’ website but they are dummies as they lead nowhere. However, I found that two separate Facebook pages have been created for Shshads.

Shshads scam facebook pages

Both these pages have been created on the same day in June 2022. Both of them have almost no likes and carry the same false information that the site has been operating since 2017. They also provide the email ID ‘service@shshads.com’ which is not provided on the website itself.

There is no company information given anywhere on the website. No company name or address has been provided anywhere, even on pages where it is a legal requirement such as the T&C and Privacy Policy.

The Contact Us page (misspelt as ‘Concact Us’) provides the email ID ‘service@nttsmqb.com‘ which is from a completely different website, once again hinting that Shshads is likely to be a scam website created by Chinese scam syndicates who operate thousands of fake online stores.

I could not find any customer reviews of Shshads online. If you want to share your review of this website, you can do so in the comments below or on my social media pages.

Conclusion

It seems quite obvious that Shshads and the 99 related sites may all be scams from China. The website is being operated anonymously from China since May 2022 and the prices are too good to be true.

The entire website’s content has been copied and the same images and text can be found on at least 97 other websites, all of which are likely to be scams. The website contains no company information. The only contact detail provided is the email ID of a different website called Nttsmqb.

Payments are processed through a different website called Giuwr which is an exact clone of Shshads. Two separate Facebook pages have been created and it is falsely stated on both pages that Shshads is operating since 2017 even though the website did not exist before 2022. No customer reviews could be found online.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Shshads or any of the 99 related websites as there are high chances that you will not receive what you ordered or might receive low-quality copies at best.

If you think that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact your credit card company for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be based in France.
