Why Is Revoltseal Fake?

Revoltseal is a company that claims to help victims of investment scams recover their stolen money from scammers. The interesting part is that they claim to be experts in recovering cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, something that can only be accomplished by experienced cryptocurrency lawyers. As soon as I tried to open the website, Web of Trust blocked my entry with a warning message that it might be a scam.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 11th September 2020. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden for privacy.

revoltseal scam whois

Even though the website is barely over a month old, it is stated on the home page that Revoltseal has 6+ years of experience. This is clearly not true.

I found that the content on the website is not original as it is being used by at least two other recovery websites – namely, BruteRecovery.tech and IdSketch.cn. The former has also been marked as a scam on Web of Trust.

The website contains a page called Reviews which supposedly contains testimonials by happy clients. However, this is an internal review system, which means that the website owners can edit and/or delete reviews. For example, when I tried to leave a review on the website, it was immediately held for moderation. Therefore, Revoltseal has complete control over which reviews to show. They can also write fake reviews themselves.

Revoltseal does not seem to have a social media presence. The contact details provided are an email ID, address and phone number. The email ID was found to be fake when tested using VerifyEmailAddress. The phone number carries the area code of California while the address given is of a building in New York. Therefore, the contact details seem to be fake.

There are no reviews available for Revoltseal online, probably because it is a new website.

It seems quite clear that Revoltseal is a scam. The company claims to have more than 6 years of experience even though the domain has only been registered in September 2020. The website is marked as a scam on Web of Trust and the content is also being used by two other websites, one of which is also marked as a scam.

The website has an internal review system that allows Revoltseal to control which reviews to show and which ones to delete. Therefore, negative reviews will never be displayed on the website. It should also be noted that such a system allows the company to write fake reviews for itself. There are no third-party reviews available on websites such as Scamadviser or TrustPilot to show that RevoltSeal is genuine.

The contact details seem to be fake. The email ID provided does not work, the address is incomplete and gives the name of a building in New York. Meanwhile, the phone number carries the area code of California.

It is advisable to avoid hiring Revoltseal for recovering money from a scam, as it seems to be a website set up by scammers themselves to repeatedly exploit their own victims.

How to Get Your Money Back from a Scam

Remember: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you have been a victim of an investment scam, you can take the following steps:

  1. File a complaint with the payment portal. However, investment scammers mostly use methods such as Bitcoin, Western Union, MoneyGram and other untraceable methods which make refunds impossible.
  2. File a formal police complaint with the Cybercrime department.
  3. Leave a negative review on review portals such as Scamadviser and TrustPilot
  4. Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
  5. Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
  6. If the company has a listing on Google My Business or Google Maps, file a complaint using the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Also, leave a negative review explaining what kind of experience you had.
