Why is NintGameset Fake?

Nintgameset is a website which claims to sell Nintendo consoles such as the Switch and DS in new and refurbished condition. The website uses Nintendo’s trademarks such as their name and logo as well as Nintendo’s copyrighted material such as original console images. The prices of all the items on Nintgameset are around half of the original.

A domain name lookup shows that the website has been registered in 9th July 2020 in New York. However, a bit of searching revealed that the same website is present on the domain puppystore.vip, which was registered on 17th January 2020 in Florida.

The contact details given on the website say that the main office is based in Tianjin, China with a warehouse in New Jersey, USA. The warehouse address is of a company named D2 Logistics. I couldn’t independently confirm whether D2 Logistics does warehousing for Tianjin Changjia Trading Co., Ltd.

The website has a banner on top which says ‘Free 2 Days Shipping & Free Returns’. Their policy pages contradict these claims as they require 1-5 weeks for delivery within the US and returns costs have to be borne by the customer. It is also mentioned in their policies that items may arrive in different packages as they ship from different international warehouses. This makes no sense as they have only provided information about one warehouse which is located in USA.

Because the site is so new, there are no reviews available. On a YouTube video about the website on the channel Scam Adviser Reports, some customers have raised concerns that they may have been scammed. One user has mentioned that the PayPal payment confirmation mentioned the merchant’s ID as becomingill@outlook.com.

There are numerous signs which indicate that Nintgameset could be a scam. The website uses Nintendo’s trademarks and intellectual property even though there is no evidence that they are associated with Nintendo in any way. The store was originally set up under the domain name of puppystore.vip and the portal is still active at the time of publishing this article. The prices are suspiciously low at a time when the Nintendo Switch is out of stock even at major retailers. There are contradictory claims about the shipping and return policies. One customer has confirmed that the item has not been received after 3 days which can be considered as proof that the claim of 2-day shipping made by Nintgameset is false.

There is a very high probability that Nintegameset is a scam. The chances that you may receive a product are low and even if you do, it will most likely be counterfeit. It would be advisable to not shop with Nintgameset.
