Is Habseli Fake or Real?
Fake
Why is Habseli Fake?
Habseli (habseli.com) is a website that claims to be selling various generic Chinese goods such as pillows, towels, lamps and more at discounts. The website is of poor quality and shows signs of being a Chinese scam right from the start. For example, the site has been created using the Chinese e-commerce platform Shoplazza and the website source code contains Chinese text.
The prices of the products are much higher compared to competitors. Therefore, the prices seem completely random which indicates that Habseli is not a genuine business.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 10th December 2020. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a privacy guard. Therefore, Habseli is a relatively new website operated anonymously from a high-risk country.
The About Us page contains the following text:
Welcome to HABSELI, we are dedicated to bring you innovative products at an affordable price.
In HABSELI, you can find a wide variety of goodies that will inspire you to live your best life. Top searching and start living your best life, with gear from our unlimited selection.
If you have any other kinds of products that you dont know where to buy, simply just send us an email at support@trabladzer.com and we will find it for you.
It has been observed that the same text is used on sites in the Uniqueness Scam Network which I have cautioned readers about numerous times in the past. The text also mentions the name of a completely different website called Trabladzer which has already been exposed as a scam. I found that there are at least 106 related websites, all of which are likely to be scams. The full list of sites is given at the end of the article.
While testing the checkout process, I found that the PayPal account used by Habseli for processing payments is named ‘Adflurry Network Technology Limited’. This account was also associated with the scam website Trabladzer and there are several complaints against Adflurry Network Technology Limited on sites such as Scamwatcher and Complaints Board for running bait-and-switch scams.
Even though it is apparent that Habseli is a Chinese-run website selling China-made products, the owners of the site are trying to create a fake impression that the company is based in the UK. The Terms & Conditions page absurdly states that the site operates as per the ‘laws of the London’ and the below company details of Mexong Limited have been provided:
Company Name: Mexong Ltd
Registration Number: 12948246
Company Address: Crown House, 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX (this is not a returning address)
Mexong Limited is a known Chinese shell company that operates hundreds of fake online stores associated with the Uniqueness Scam Network. Therefore, it is clear that Habseli and Trabladzer are Chinese scam websites operated by the same owners.
Habseli does not seem to have a social media presence as there are no social media links provided on the website and I could not find any pages independently either. However, Uniqueness Network scam websites are known to be promoted through random proxy pages on Facebook and Instagram.
The Contact Us page of the website again contains the email ID ‘support@trabladzer.com‘ and the company details of Mexong Limited. Therefore, there is no real way to contact Habseli after making a purchase.
I could not find any customer reviews for Habseli, which is quite surprising considering that the domain name was registered in 2020. This might be an indication that Habseli has only started operating recently. If you want to share your review of this site, you can do so in the comments below or on my social media pages.
Going by past reviews of sites in the Uniqueness Scam Network, it is likely that customers will be bait-and-switched with low-quality goods or counterfeits. Common complaints with these sites include false advertising, late or no delivery, poor customer service and refusal to provide refunds.
Conclusion
It is extremely likely that Habseli, Trabladzer and the 105 similar sites may all be scams operated by the Uniqueness Scam Network from China.
Habseli is a new site created anonymously from China in December 2020. The website is poorly-made and was created using the Chinese platform Shoplazza. The prices on the website seem to be random as they are much higher than those offered by competitors like Aliexpress.
There are multiple signs suggesting that Habseli is a Chinese operation, but it has been misleadingly stated that the website is operated by Mexong Ltd. registered in the UK, which is actually a Chinese shell company. I found that there are 104 websites related to Habseli and Mexong Limited which may all be scams.
The website uses a PayPal account named ‘Adflurry Network Technology Limited’ for processing payments. This account has several complaints against it and it is also used on known fake websites that are are infamous for pulling bait-and-switch scams and then refusing refunds.
It is advisable to avoid shopping on Habseli, Trabladzer or any of the 104 similar websites as they are likely to send cheap Chinese goods that don’t live up to expectations or are faulty.
If you think that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact PayPal or your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be located in the UK.
