Why is Findmeasia Fake?

Findmeasia.com is a website that claims to be selling quilts and beddings sets at discounted prices. The images have been copied from a brand called Kasentex which sells its products through its own website as well as stores like Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond. The prices offered by Findmeasia are too good to be true, which is often the most obvious indication of a scam.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that findmeasia.com was originally registered 15th May 2018. However, snapshots from the Wayback Machine show that the site has existed since 2011 with long periods of inactivity and restarted in 2023. The domain registration was updated on 13th May 2023 and I believe that this is when the current version of the site actually started operating.

The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact information have been hidden using a privacy guard. However, I found that Findmeasia has relations to a scammy website from China. Therefore, Findmeasia is a new website being operated anonymously from a high-risk country.

The quality of the website is quite poor as there is barely any content except for the product listings. There is no reason to believe that Findmeasia is a genuine business as the Terms of Service document is clearly fake. There is no company information provided and the ‘Governing Laws’ section which usually states the country in which the company is based mentions no country name.

I also found that the About Us page which is supposed to provide information about the company has been hidden from public view, which is extremely strange. This is another sign that Findmeasia is not run by true professionals.

The website links to social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. These pages also contain strong indications that Findmeasia is a scam. Firstly, the Twitter page was created in June 2023 and the first Instagram post was published on 28th June 2023, which confirms my belief that Findmeasia is a new website.

The Facebook and Instagram pages seem to be hacked profiles as they have changed their names recently. The Facebook page was created in 2019 and used to be called ‘Cafe Saludable Fer’ before being changed to ‘Findmeasia’ on 27th June 2023. The Instagram profile name was also changed but the previous name is not known.

The Contact Us page of the website contains a USA phone number which is likely to be fake and an email ID. As everything else about Findmeasia appears to be a scam, there is no reason to believe that the contact details are genuine or that Findmeasia is based in the USA.

I found several negative customer reviews for Findmeasia posted on their Facebook page as well as Trustpilot. Customers have mentioned that the products never arrived and there is no customer support. The reviews also mention that the customers purchased footwear, suggesting that Findmeasia has suddenly started selling different products, as scam sites often do.

In an shipping confirmation screenshot posted by a customer, I noticed that the email came from the ID of a different website called wareouton.com. When I visited the website, I found that it appears to be a random scam website claiming to sell postage stamps. I found 10 similar websites which are likely to be scams. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.

A domain name lookup of warouton.com showed that it was registered from China. Therefore, it can be inferred that Findmeasia and Wareouton are operated by Chinese scam syndicates.

Conclusion

There is an incredibly high likelihood that Findmeasia is a fake website operated by scammers from China. The images have been copied from a brand called Kasentex and the prices are too good to be true.

Findmeasia is a new site created anonymously in June 2023. There is no company information provided on the website and the social media profiles are hacked pages that have been taken over. Findmeasia has relations to a scammy Chinese website called Wareouton, indicating that it is also a scam from China. A fake USA number has been provided to deceive customers.

There are several customer complaints saying that the products were never delivered despite their cards being charged. Though the site sells bedding sets now, the reviews mention that it sold footwear earlier. Completely changing the products being offered is a common sign of scam websites.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Findmeasia, Wareouton or any of the 10 similar websites as they seem to be scams.

If you think that any of these sites have scammed you, you can contact PayPal or your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be located in the USA.
