Why Is ExpertCryptonMarket Fake?

ExpertCryptonMarket is a website that claims to be an ‘advanced investment platform’ based in the UK. The website is of extremely poor quality as it is badly-designed and contains numerous linguistic errors. There is also no information about what kind of investments the company is involved in.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 25th August 2020. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden for privacy. Therefore, the website owners are operating anonymously.

The ‘About’ content on the home page says that the website has been operating since 2013, which is clearly a lie. The same lie has been repeated in the website footer. I found that the content used in this section has been copied, as there are at least 5 other websites using the same text.

The investment packages show that ExpertCryptonMarket is promising minimum returns of 1,400% per week, This is absolutely ridiculous and indicates an extremely high chance of the website being a scam. Realistic returns from legitimate investments are in the range of 1-15% per year.

The website also mentions that you need to pay a 20% manager’s fee in order to withdraw your funds. This is an imaginary fee that does not exist in any real investment platform.

There is also a mention of a 5% Referral Commission. Real investment companies don’t ask you to refer more people. This suggests that ExpertCryptonMarket may be a Ponzi scheme.

There is an ‘Investmen Calculator’ (sic) on the home page that is the most useless calculator I have ever seen. I have the tiniest of clues about what it is trying to calculate. Seems like it is converting USD into BTC.

The home page also has a list of deposits and withdrawals to make it look like a legitimate website with actual members. However, there is no way to verify this information and it can be easily faked.

ExpertCryptonMarket does not seem to have a social media presence. The contact details provided are an email ID and phone number. No address has been given. Both the details are fake as the email ID does not work and the phone number is a VoIP number registered in USA.

The company is supposed to be based in the UK as per the information in the About section. It is obvious that ExpertCryptonMarket is not located in either UK or USA.

There are no reviews available for ExpertCryptonMarket, which is a bit weird since the website seems to be operational for almost 4 months.

It is quite obvious that ExpertCryptonMarket is a scam. Very little effort has been put into the website as it contains copied text and spelling errors. The same content is being used by at least 5 other websites that may all be scams.

The website is promising a minimum return of 1,400% per week, which is hard to believe and strongly signals that ExpertCryptonMarket is a scam. There is also a 5% referral commission for inviting new members to invest in the platform. This could mean that ExpertCryptonMarket is a Ponzi scheme.

The website claims that the platform has been running since 2013. This is a clear lie because the domain name was registered only in August 2020. The website also claims that it is a UK-based company. However, no address or registration details have been provided. The contact details provided are fake as the email ID does not work and the phone number is a virtual number registered in the USA.

It is advisable to avoid investing with ExpertCryptonMarket, as it does not look like a genuine investment platform.

How to Get Your Money Back from a Scam

Remember: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you have been a victim of an investment scam, you can take the following steps:

  1. File a complaint with the payment portal. However, investment scammers mostly use methods such as Bitcoin, Western Union, MoneyGram and other untraceable methods which make refunds impossible.
  2. File a formal police complaint with the Cybercrime department.
  3. Leave a negative review on review portals such as Scamadviser and TrustPilot
  4. Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
  5. Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
  6. If the company has a listing on Google My Business or Google Maps, file a complaint using the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Also, leave a negative review explaining what kind of experience you had.
