Why Is Degetarb Fake?
Degetarb is an online store that claims to be selling clothing and fashion accessories. Even though the website URL is Degetarb.com, the company name is Degeta Online Store as per the logo.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 14th October 2020. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden for privacy. The domain registrar is a Vietnamese company named Mat Bao Corporation, which could mean that Degetarb is operated from Vietnam or at least from a South-East Asian country.
The images on the website are of low-resolution which makes it look like they have been copied from other websites. The prices on the website are extremely suspicious as the discounts are quite deep compared to trusted websites such as Amazon and NewChic. I found that the discounts are as high as 85% in some cases. This is a strong signal that Degetarb could be a scam.
The text on the website looks like it has been copied too, as the content used on the About Us page is also being used on at least 115 other websites. The full list is given at the end of the article.
In the screenshot below, you can also see the website is poorly-designed as it is not properly optimized for smaller screens. This makes it look like the website was not made by professionals.
Degetarb does not seem to have a social media presence. There are social media icons given on the website, but these are dummy icons that lead nowhere.
The only contact detail given on the website is an email ID – customerservice660233@gmail.com. It is a free Gmail ID with random numbers, which makes it look like a disposable email address. The same email ID is being used on at least 64 other websites. The email ID has also been presented as an image so that it cannot be detected by search engines. No phone number or address has been provided.
There is only one review available for Degetarb which is on Scamadviser. The reviewer has alleged that it is a fake website that does not really sell any products but no further information has been provided.
There is a fairly high chance that Degetarb may be a scam. The website is of low-quality and does not seem to be professionally made. The website URL and name on the logo do not match. The website is less than two months old, but is giving discounts as high as 85% compared to competitors. This is an extremely suspicious sign.
The images as well as text on the website are not original. The images are low-resolution and seem to be copied from various websites such as Amazon. The text used on the About Us page of the website is also present on at least 115 other websites that may all be scams.
The social media icons given are fake as they do not lead to any company profiles. The only contact method provided is a free Gmail ID ‘customerservice660233@gmail.com’. It seems to be a fake ID that is used on at least 64 websites. The email ID has also been formatted as an image to make it invisible to search engines.
The only review that is available for Degetarb states that it is a scam. There is some reason to believe that Degetarb is a Vietnamese operation, a country that is notorious for online scams. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid shopping on Degetarb, as it does not seem to be a genuine store.

- Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
- Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
