Why Is CryptonaryFxSignals Fake?

CryptonaryFxSignals is a website that claims to be a platform for Bitcoin trading. The name itself is the first red flag, as it is a weird mish-mash of Crypto, Binary Options and Forex. Any website that clubs these together is extremely likely to be a scam, as they have very little to do with each other. However, they are interchangeable in the world of scams.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 16th April 2020 in Austin, New Zealand. On Scamadviser, I could also find some contact details which show that it is actually a Nigerian operation.

On the home page, there is a section which contains three lies within two sentences.

CryptonaryFxSignals scam fake content
  • Lie #1: The website claims that the website has been established in 2017. This is clearly impossible as the domain name was only registered in April 2020.
  • Lie #2: The website claims that it is run by a company registered in the UK by the name of Bitcoin Explore Limited. When I looked this company up, I found that it has been dissolved in July 2019, almost a year before CryptonaryFxSignals was even created.

In any case, a UK registration means very little as it is cheap to obtain and requires no verification. Legitimate investment companies have to be registered with the FCA.

  • Lie #3: The website claims that CryptonaryFxSignals has been ‘listed as one of the best sites to double Bitcoins in 2018’. This is fake as the same content is also being used by at least 159 other fake crypto/forex trading websites. The full list is given at the end of the article.

The rest of the website does not provide any significant information about the company or what they do. Even the FAQs section only contains generic questions about Bitcoin.

The home page has a Testimonial section. However, all these reviews are fake as the pictures have been stolen and there are numerous scam websites using the same images and text.

The footer of the website also contains a lie about the age of the website, as it claims that the website has been active since 2013.

The only contact detail provided on the website is an email ID that doesn’t work. There is no real location given and the address line says ‘Los Angeles, California, USA’ even though the company is supposed to be based in the UK. The social media icons are also fake as they lead nowhere.

There are no client reviews available online for CryptonaryFxSignals.

It is quite apparent that CryptonaryFxSignals is a scam. The website is filled with lies and contradictions. The name itself signals a scam as Crypto, Binary Options and Forex have all been included even though it claims to only be a Bitcoin trading platform.

The domain name was registered only in April 2020 and there is some evidence that it is operated from Nigeria. However, the website claims that it is run by a UK-registered company named Bitcoin Explore Limited since 2017. Registration information shows that this company was dissolved in July 2019, almost a year before the website for CryptonaryFxSignals was even created. Adding to the confusion, the footer of the website claims that it has been running since 2013.

The content used on the website is being used by at least 159 other crypto/forex trading websites, all of which may be scams. The testimonials used by CryptonaryFxSignals can also be found on other websites. The reviews are obviously fake as they contain fake names and images stolen from random sources such as news articles.

The only contact method provided is a fake email ID. The address line says that the company is located in Los Angeles, despite claiming earlier that it is based in the UK. CryptonaryFxSignals does not have a social media presence either as the social links given on the website do not work.

It is advisable to avoid investing with CryptonaryFxSignals, as it seems to be a Nigerian scam.

How to Get Your Money Back from a Scam

Remember: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you have been a victim of an investment scam, you can take the following steps:

  1. File a complaint with the payment portal. However, investment scammers mostly use methods such as Bitcoin, Western Union, MoneyGram and other untraceable methods which make refunds impossible.
  2. File a formal police complaint with the Cybercrime department.
  3. Leave a negative review on review portals such as Scamadviser and TrustPilot
  4. Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
  5. Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
  6. If the company has a listing on Google My Business or Google Maps, file a complaint using the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Also, leave a negative review explaining what kind of experience you had.
