Why Is Christtate Fake?
Christtate is a website that claims to be selling a variety of home appliances and gadgets at unbelievable discounts. The prices on Christtate are more than 95% lower than on other sites, which is the most obvious sign that it is a scam.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 5th February 2021. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a paid service. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously.
Even though the domain was registered less than a month back, the About Us page states that Christtate was established in 2018, which is clearly a lie.
The same page also contains the following snippet of text:
We take great pride in personalised electronics. We, like yourself, have always loved exquisite and unique products that set us apart from everyone else.
The same snippet of text can be found on at least 245 websites, all of which may be scams. These websites all have URLs that resemble Western names and have the same designs. They also all offer products at ridiculously low prices that are obviously fake.
218 out of 245 (89%) of these websites have shared IP addresses, which shows that they are operated by the same owners. Therefore, I have named it the ‘Exquisite and Unique’ Scam Network. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.
Christtake and the related websites have been set up for the purpose of stealing customers’ card details. This can be inferred from the fact that the sites ask users to enter their card details on the website itself, instead of redirecting to a secure gateway.
No matter what details are entered, the site will always show the message ‘The card number is incorrect’, prompting the user to try more cards. The website footer displays the PayPal logo, but there is no option to pay by any other method except credit card.
Christtate does not seem to have a social media presence, which means that they are probably running ads on sites like Facebook using proxy pages.
The only contact method provided is a fake email ID that was found to be inactive when tested. Therefore, Christtate does not have any customer support.
No customer reviews for Christtate could be found online.
It is quite obvious that Christtate and the related 244 websites are part of an organized scam network. These websites have clearly been set up for phishing credit card details, as the payment information has to entered on the site itself and not in a secure gateway.
I have dubbed this collection of sites as the ‘Exquisite and Unique’ Scam Network as they all contain the text ‘We, like yourself, have always loved exquisite and unique products that set us apart from everyone else.’
Almost all the sites in the scam network have URLs that sound like Western names and are offering products at prices that are more than 95% lower than their actual cost. It is evident from such ‘too good to be true’ prices that these sites are scams.
Christtate does not have any customer service as they only provide an email ID which itself is fake. This is true for all the sites in the network.
It is advisable to avoid shopping on any of the 255 websites in the ‘Exquisite and Unique’ Scam Network, as none of them are genuine stores.

- File a complaint with the payment portal and ask whether the payment can be reversed.
- File a complaint with the Consumer Complaints Forum
- Leave a negative review on review portals such as Scamadviser, TrustPilot, OnlineThreatAlerts and SiteJabber
- Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
- Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
