Why is Chainrecoup Fake?

YouTube video

Chainrecoup is a website that claims to help victims of online investment scams recover their lost funds, including cryptocurrency. As I have explained previously, cryptocurrency is nearly impossible to recover, which makes promises by new and unknown companies highly dubious.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 4th November 2022. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact information have been hidden using a privacy guard. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously from an unknown country.

whois

The overall quality of the website is extremely poor and it is obvious that the site was not created by professionals. The site is rife with poorly written content and important documentation such as the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy are missing along with other pages such as the FAQs.

Upon analyzing the site’s content, I found that there are at least 32 fake money recovery sites using the same text. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.

  • Chainrecoup scam copied content
  • Chainrecoup scam terms and conditions missing
  • Chainrecoup scam missing pages

Even the details of Chainrecoup’s team members are fake. The people mentioned on the website don’t exist as they have no online profiles and the images are clearly copied from other websites. The scammers operating this website seem to be fans of Breaking Bad, as one of their (fake) team members is named after the show’s protagonist Walter White.

The testimonials are obviously fake too, as the images of their supposed clients have been stolen from other sites. One of the testimonials is supposedly given by ‘Saul Goodman’ which is the name of another character from Breaking Bad. The same testimonials can be found on other fake recovery agency sites such as globalrecoupnetwork.org and universalrecoup.org.

Chainrecoup does not have a social media presence. There are no social media links on the website and no pages for it seem to exist. The following contact details are provided:

A108 Adam Street, New York, NY 535022
+1 (252) 922-0083
support@chainrecoup.org

Firstly, the address is fake as it seems to be a generic address used in website templates. The location does not exist and the same New York address is mentioned on several unrelated websties.

  • Chainrecoup scam fake contact details
  • fake new york address 1
  • fake new york address 2

The phone number is being used anonymously for WhatsApp messaging and is a VoIP line registered in North Carolina, which contradicts the NY address. Therefore, the website owners are deliberately hiding their identities.

  • Chainrecoup scam anonymous whatsapp profile

I could not find any genuine reviews for Chainrecoup. There are no reviews written by clients of Chainrecoup on sites like ScamAdviser and Trustpilot. If you want to share your review of this website, you can do so in the comments below or on my social media pages.

Conclusion

It seems quite obvious that Chainrecoup is a fake money recovery agency trying to scam people who have already been scammed. The site is being operated anonymously since November 2022 and there is no evidence that it is a real company.

The website is of low quality as it contains poorly written copied content and missing pages. Important documentation such as the Privacy Policy and ToS are not present. The testimonials and team member details are fake too, making it obvious that Chainrecoup is not a professional business

Chainrecoup does not have a social media presence and no reviews for it could be found. The New York address provided is fake and the number is a virtual line registered in North Carolina that is being used anonymously for WhatsApp texts.

It is advisable to avoid hiring the services of Chainrecoup as there is no reason to believe that it is a legitimate crypto recovery agency.

How to Get Your Money Back from a Scam

Remember: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you have been a victim of a money recovery scam, you can take the following steps:

  1. File a formal police complaint with the Cybercrime department.
  2. File a complaint with the payment portal. However, recovery scammers mostly use cryptocurrency which makes getting a refund impossible.
  3. Leave a negative review on review portals such as ScamAdviser and TrustPilot
  4. Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
  5. Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
  6. If the company has a listing on Google My Business or Google Maps, file a complaint using the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Also, leave a negative review explaining what kind of experience you had.
