Why is Centrusfx Fake?
Centrusfx is an online investment platform that claims to generate profits through trading Forex and Binary Options. This is already suspicious because Crypto, Forex and Binary Options are favourite buzzwords of investment scammers. The first sign of Centrusfx being is a scam is that investors are required to make deposits using cryptocurrency. There is no good reason to do this and crypto payments are favoured by scammers as they are untraceable and irreversible.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 1st February 2021. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a paid service. Therefore, it is a relatively new website that is being operated anonymously.
Centrusfx’s website is pathetic and does not give the impression that it has been created by professionals. For example, the site does not even contain basic documentation such as a Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy is titled ‘Privicy & Policy’.
The About Us page of the website contains the following text:
CenTrusFx.com is a Global provider of online trading services specializing in the development and offering of custom trading platform integrations and systems for professional Binary Option traders, money managers, trading academies and other financial institutions. The company was established in 2012 by a team of market professionals with background in some of the leading Forex and Binary Options brokers in the world.
I found that the same text is being used on at least 14 other investment platforms, all of which are likely to be scams. The list of sites is given at the end of the article. In fact, most of the sites are also identical in appearance. This hints that these sites have been created using the same template.
The About Us page also states that Centrusfx was established in 2012, which is obviously a lie as the site did not exist before February 2021.
Centrusfx does not seem to have a social media presence. The contact details on the website include an address, email ID and two phone numbers. It is once again evident that Centrusfx is run by amateurs as the Contact Us page and website footer provide different phone numbers.
Upon checking the contact details, I found that the California address is completely fake as no such location exists. Even though the location in the address is California, the phone numbers carry area codes of New York and Ohio. Both the numbers are virtual lines, which means that they can be operated from anywhere in the world.
I found a couple of reviews on ScamAdviser for Centrusfx which make it clear that it is an Advance Fee Scam. Investors have stated that Centrusfx promised them absurdly unrealistic returns such as 900% in 1 week. However, they were asked to pay hidden fees when they tried to withdraw the profits.

Conclusion
It is quite obvious that Centrusfx and the 14 similar websites have a tremendously high possibility of being scams. Centrusfx is a new website created in February 2021 that is being operated anonymously. However, the website makes the blatantly false statement that the company was established in 2012.
None of the information on the website is real as it has been created using a cheap template. The site’s design and content are the same as several other websites, all of which appear to be scams. Basic documentation such as Terms of Service is missing and there are silly errors like the Privacy Policy being titled ‘Privicy & Policy’.
The contact details provided on the website are highly dubious. The California address mentioned is fake as the location does not exist. The phone numbers have area codes of New York and Ohio, and are virtual lines that can be operated from anywhere in the world. This means that Centrusfx is not based in the USA at all. It is likely to be a scam operation run from Africa or Asia.
Reviews of Centrusfx make it clear that it is an investment scam. Investors are shown fake profits such as 900% ROI in 1 week but are required to pay additional hidden fees when they ask to withdraw the funds. Deposits on the platform need to be made using cryptocurrency, which is shady as crypto payments are incredibly unsafe.
It is advisable to avoid investing with Centrusfx and the 14 similar sites as there are no good reasons to believe that they are genuine investment platforms.
Update
Soon after publishing the article and reaching out to Namecheap for providing infrastructure for the scam, the site was suspended by Namecheap.
