Why Is Bvcllecc Fake?

Bvcllecc is a website that is supposedly selling a wide assortment of products ranging from electronics, furniture, kitchen appliances to fitness equipment and tools at extremely low prices. The discounts are more than 90% in most cases. Such ‘too good to be true’ prices are often the most obvious sign of a scam.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 30th January 2021. The organization name is given as Zheng Ling and the domain name has been registered in HeBeiSheng, China. Therefore, it is a new website being operated from a high-risk country.

The website is an extremely low-quality store hosted on Shoplazza, which is the Chinese counterpart of Shopify. The website has almost no content except for the fake product listings.

Oddly, Bvcllecc discourages users to shop for more than $100 and levies a $1,000 shipping charge for orders that exceed $100. This is certainly a dubious practice, though the reason behind it is yet unclear. My guess that it is easier to get away with scamming customers for amounts less than $100.

The website’s policy pages such as the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy pages do not contain any real documentation. They contain generic text that mentions the company name as ‘Our Store’. The same text could be found on at least 272 websites, all of which may be scams. Therefore, I am naming this network as the ‘Our Store’ Scam Network.

These websites all seem to be related, as roughly 98% of them share the same IP 6 addresses. All these sites have nonsensical gibberish names and unconventional domain extensions such as .top, .xyz, .site and more. Combined, these facts suggest that all 270+ websites are part of an organized scam network. The list of these sites is given at the end of the article.

One of the pages also mentions that the site is hosted on Shopify, even though it is clearly not the case. This once again shows that the documentation on the website is not genuine.

While testing the checkout process, I found that the PayPal account associated with the website is of a Chinese company named ‘Senqi Technology Group Ltd’. This company name is not mentioned anywhere on the website.

The only contact information given on the website is an email ID of a different website named tyqegak.top. Curiously, the URL redirects back to Bvcllecc. There is no phone number or address provided. Therefore, Bvcllecc is clearly trying to hide the fact that it is a Chinese website.

It seems extremely likely that Bvcllecc and the related 272 websites are part of a Chinese scam network. The websites are of extremely low quality and are offering products at prices that are more than 90% lower compared to trusted stores like Amazon. Such vast price differences almost always indicative of a scam.

An outstandingly shady detail about the website is that it applies a $1,000 shipping charge on any order above $100, clearly to discourage customers from spending above that amount. This makes no sense, except if you consider that it might be easier to get away with smaller scams that are less than $100 in value.

The website is less than two weeks old and the domain name has been registered in China. It is hosted on Shoplazza, which is the Chinese version of Shopify and the PayPal account used for accepting payments is also of a random Chinese company. However, there is no mention on the website that it is being operated from China. As China is a high-risk country for shopping scams, this is a huge red flag.

The website has almost no content except for the product listings. The content that is available, such as in the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy pages, have generic text and outright misinformation. The company name is given as ‘Our Store’ and the same generic text can be found on at least 272 other websites.

Almost 98% of these websites share the same 6 IP addresses, have gibberish names and have rarely-used domain extensions such as .top and .xyz. The similarities between these sites imply that they are part of an organized network of fake websites created to scam customers.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Bvcllecc or any of the 270+ related websites, as they all have a high possibility of being scams.
