Fake
Why is Bitvavo88 Fake?
Bitvavo88 is a website that claims to be a cryptocurrency investment platform that generates profits through mining and trading cryptocurrency. The site appears to be a scam from the get-go as they are apparently impersonating a legit cryptocurrency exchange called Bitvavo.
Bitvavo88 promises returns as high as 50% every 20 days which makes it obvious that the site is a scam as such returns are not realistic or sustainable.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 17th May 2023. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a privacy guard. Therefore, bitvavo88.com is a new website that is being operated anonymously from an unknown country.
Even though Bitvavo88 clearly did not exist before May 2023, the website footer falsely states that it is active since 2017.
Additionally, the About Us page falsely states that the company was formed in 2018 even though there is no proof that Bitvavo88 existed before May 2023.
The website is poorly made and appears to be created using a cheap HYIP template, as with most fake investment platforms. An obvious indication that the website has been created by amateurs is that multiple pages are empty.
Upon analyzing the website’s content, I found that there are at least 7 similar websites, all of which may be scams. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.
Bitvavo88 claims to have a Money Services Business (MSB) registration in the USA and provides a certificate to prove this. However, I found that the certificate is dated May 2022 and is in the name of an unrelated company called Coinftx.
Bitvavo88 has no social media presence. There are a few social media icons given on the website but they are fake as they lead nowhere.
There is no way to contact Bitvavo88 as no contact details have been provided. I could not find any reviews for it on sites such as ScamAdviser or Trustpilot. If you want to share your review of this website, you can do so in the comments below or on my social media pages.
Conclusion
It seems evident that Bitvavo88 and the 7 similar websites likely to be scams. There are several signs suggesting Bitvavo88 is not a genuine investment platform with the most important being that Bitvavo88 is impersonating a legitimate cryptocurrency exchange called Bitvavo. Additionally the website is new and is being operated anonymously, and the returns being promised are too good to be true.
Unknown owners are running the site since May 2023 and there is nothing to suggest that it is a legitimate business. The entire website content is fake and several pages are empty. The site implies that the company is active since 2017 even though the site was only created in May 2023.
The website claims that Bitvavo88 has a MSB registration allowing it to operated in the USA. However, the certificate shown on the website belongs to an unrelated company.
Bitvavo88 has no social media presence and no contact details have been provided. I could not find any client reviews for the site either.
It is advisable to avoid investing with Bitvavo88 and the 7 similar websites as there are no reasons to believe that they are genuine investment platforms. As a general rule, never send crypto to strangers as it cannot be recovered.
