Why Is BeamColony Fake?

BeamColony is a website that claims to help victims of scam recover their money from scammers. The interesting part is that they say they are experts in recovering cryptocurrency, something that is only possible by experienced cryptocurrency lawyers.

BeamColony’s website is quite poor and seems to be made in a hurry. Some of the content is unchanged from the Wordpress template that has been used, which makes it seem that BeamColony’s website has been created in a hurry or on an extremely low budget. The website even contains a page about Pole Dancing.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it has been registered on 10th September 2020. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden for privacy.

The content on BeamColony’s website is copied and there are at least 5 other cryptocurrency recovery websites using the same content, all of which may be scams. The names of the websites are given at the end of the article. This, once again, shows that BeamColony is not run by true professionals.

The website contains some testimonials that are badly-written and use stock images. Therefore, it is extremely likely that these testimonials are written by BeamColony themselves. The same applies to the reviews given on the Client Reviews page.

BeamColony does not seem to have any social media presence. There are social media icons given on the home page but they are fake as they lead nowhere.

The contact details given on BeamColony’s website are an email ID, phone number and address. All of these seem to be fake. The email ID was found to be not working, the phone number is a VoIP number registered in Texas and the address given is of a building in New York. As the phone number is an internet calling number, it can be operated from anywhere in the world. This means BeamColony is probably not an American company at all.

There are no client reviews available for BeamColony on websites such as Scamadviser and TrustPilot. This increases the likelihood that the reviews on their website are fake.

It seems quite obvious that BeamColony is a scam. The website is of low-quality and seems to be made in a hurry. The content has been copied from other websites and there are at least 5 other ‘crypto recovery’ companies using the same text. The testimonials on the website seem to be written by the company themselves, as the images and names are fake.

The social media links given on the website are fake and so are the contact details. The email ID does not really exist, the address given is of a building in New York while the phone number is a VoIP number registered in Texas. The VoIP number can be operated from anywhere in the world, which means that BeamColony is probably operated from outside America.

It is advisable to avoid hiring BeamColony to recover money from scammers, as there is a high chance that it is a fake company set up by investment scammers to take advantage of their victims again.

How to Get Your Money Back from a Scam

Remember: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you have been a victim of an investment scam, you can take the following steps:

  1. File a complaint with the payment portal. However, investment scammers mostly use methods such as Bitcoin, Western Union, MoneyGram and other untraceable methods which make refunds impossible.
  2. File a formal police complaint with the Cybercrime department.
  3. Leave a negative review on review portals such as Scamadviser and TrustPilot
  4. Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
  5. Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
  6. If the company has a listing on Google My Business or Google Maps, file a complaint using the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Also, leave a negative review explaining what kind of experience you had.
