Is Soulmiacollection Fake or Real?

Likely Fake

Why Is Soulmiacollection Likely Fake?

Soulmiacollection aka Soulmia is a website that claims to be selling womenโ€™s clothing items such as graphic tees, tops, dresses, swimwear and more at huge discounts.

The products on the website are not original and can be found on several other sites, including dubious Chinese websites. The images may have been lifted from sites such as eBay and Pinterest.

The images of the clothing all look highly deceptive as they are not actual photographs of the items. They are simply designs that have been superimposed onto stock images. Therefore, they are not accurate representations of what customers can expect to receive.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 4th December 2020 in Guangdong, China. The registrantโ€™s details such as name and contact details have not been provided. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously from a high-risk country.

Even though Soulmiacollection clearly did not exist before December 2020, the home page banner states that the site is holding a โ€˜1st Anniv.โ€™ sale. This is a blatant lie as the site is barely 6 months old.

The website is bare-bones and has almost no content except for the product listings and policy pages. Not just the images, but the text content on the website appears to be copied too.

The same text can be found on at least 11 other websites, all of which may be scams. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.

Oddly, there is no clear mention of China anywhere on the website. The Terms of Use page states โ€˜This Service is based in Hong Kongโ€™.

However, the same page also states that โ€˜this website is owned and operated byโ€™ a UK-based company named Hetechi Limited. This is an obvious attempt to hide the websiteโ€™s Chinese origin.

Hetechi Limited seems to be a shell company, possibly created for the purpose of money laundering, as it is owned by a Chinese national. It is also possible that the company has no relation to Soulmiacollection at all and is being used as a decoy.

The address given on Soulmiacollectionโ€™s website does not match the company address but it does match the Chinese ownerโ€™s correspondence address.

The social media pages mentioned on Soulmiacollectionโ€™s website are a Facebook page, Instagram profile and YouTube channel. However, I found that Soulmiacollection has at least 10 Facebook pages.

Three of these have been used for advertising while a fourth one appears to have been banned.

It is not normal for a brand to have multiple pages on the same platform, much less use multiple accounts for advertising. Soulmia is running 3,100 ads on Facebook and Instagram.

The Facebook page information also confirms that Soulmiacollection is run by a Chinese company. The name given on the page is โ€˜ๆทฑๅœณๅธ‚ๅ‡ก็‰›็ง‘ๆŠ€ๆœ‰้™ๅ…ฌๅธโ€™ which translates to โ€˜Shenzhen Fanniu Technology Co., Ltd.โ€™

The main page owner locations are China, Russia and Hong Kong along with some other random countries.

As mentioned before, the UK address provided on the website is likely to be fake. The only real way to contact Soulmiacollection is by email. However, this too is meaningless, as Soulmiacollectionโ€™s terrible customer service is a recurring complaint in customer reviews.

Soulmiacollection has abysmal ratings and poor reviews. The complaints put forth by customers are the same as those commonly seen for sites by Chinese bait-and-switch scam networks. These include non-delivery, late delivery, fake tracking information, false advertising, inferior quality, wrong sizes and refusal to provide refunds.

Conclusion

It is quite obvious that Soulmiacollection and the 14 similar sites may all be bait-and-switch scams run by Chinese scam networks. The text and images on Soulmiacollection all appear to be copied from other sites. It is a new website created in December 2020 but is holding a fake โ€˜1st Anniversaryโ€™ sale.

The domain registration information and Facebook page information confirm that Soulmiacollection is run by a Chinese company. However, the website itself falsely claims that it is โ€˜owned and operatedโ€™ by a UK-based firm. The company registration information reveals that it has a Chinese owner.

The product images on Soulmiacollection are fake as they are simply images of designs photoshopped into stock photos. As per reviews, customers receive items that are of extremely poor quality and barely resemble the images on the site.

Soulmiacollection has at least 10 Facebook pages and 4 advertiser accounts including a banned advertiser account. It is currently running 3,100 ads on Facebook and Instagram. No genuine brand creates multiple pages on the same platform for the explicit purpose of advertising.

Worst of all, Soulmiacollection seems to be pulling the same scam that Chinese scam networks are notorious for. Firstly, they never reveal that the items are being shipped from China. Then, they seem to intentionally send poor copies of the items shown in images that take ages to arrive. Other complaints include non-delivery, late delivery, fake tracking information, false advertising, and wrong sizes.

Finally, they refuse to provide refunds to customers fully knowing that they are likely to be dissatisfied with the products that arrive. In order to obtain a full refund, they make the ridiculous demand that the items have to be shipped back to China at the customerโ€™s own expense, which can end up costing more than the item itself.

This is a tactic to make them give up and accept a tiny partial refund. Luckily, there is an easy way to get a full refund without meeting their unreasonable demands which is mentioned in the next section.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Soulmiacollection or any of the 14 similar websites, as they are all likely to be fake websites run by Chinese criminal syndicates.

What to do if You Got Scammed

If you feel that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact Paypal or your bank for a full refund. Donโ€™t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back as you didnโ€™t know it would be shipped from China.
