Why is SheerMart Likely Fake?
SheerMart is an online women’s clothing store selling a variety of apparel such as tops, dresses and denims. They claim to be based in San Jose, California, but a domain lookup shows that the website was registered in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was registered fairly recently on 21st Feb, 2020. Upon checking their address on Google Maps, it seems that the address provided is of a residential area and therefore likely to be fake.
The website looks a bit bland but there is nothing which outright suggests that there is anything fishy going on. The social media links given on the website do not lead to any specific page for the brand, which implies that they do not have a social media presence. This is quite odd as online clothing brands generally use social media heavily to promote their products.
A reverse image lookup of the images shows that some of the same items are listed on another website called Good Stuff Apparel located in Los Angeles, California. However is is no cross-referencing between the two sites. It’s possible that both the sites are dropshipping their items from the same supplier, most probably from China.
The contact details include a phone number and an e-mail ID which customers can use to get in touch with the company. Sheermart mentions a 30-day return policy with refunds initiated within 3-5 days.
I noticed that some of the items have a few reviews on them. Though the reviews have a ‘Verified’ tag attached to them, it looks as though they have been copied verbatim from Amazon reviews of unrelated products of an Amazon seller named Miusey. The third review, though not copied verbatim, also mentions their username as ‘Kindle Customer’ which suggests that it was probably lifted from Amazon too.
A google search for ‘sheermart scam’ presents a Youtube video as the first result, which makes the following claim about Sheermart:
Sheermart located at sheermart.com is a fake online clothing store. Online shoppers run the risk of receiving counterfeit goods or nothing at all from the same store. Unsatisfied online users who have shopped on the untrustworthy website are asked to contact their bank or financial institution to have their transactions canceled and money refunded.

The second result is also a Youtube video which says the following:
Yes, this is one Fraud site of a big SCAM network. This WEBSITE will never SEND you a single item you pay for. Once you ordered an item, You will end up waiting for that item forever. The aim of these sites is to take your bank information, and sell that to the scammers, Which made your card’s Replica and steal your money? So, do not buy anything from these Fraud Websites, and if you have already ordered something Please ask your bank for refund and cancel your card to be safe in future.

Things have taken a scary turn now as the above review suggests that SheerMart is actually a phishing racket rather than a genuine online clothing store. User reviews of sheermart.com were surprisingly not available on third-party websites which makes it difficult to gauge their track record of delivering products and the trustworthiness of their customer service.
Due their potentially fake address, non-unique products, lack of social media presence and lack of genuine customer reviews, I have a strong suspicion that SheerMart may be a scam clothing site. It would be in your best interest to avoid shopping from this website, as at best it is a dropshipping company selling low-quality products from China and at worst it is a phishing site which will sell your information to third parties.
How to Get Your Money Back from a Scam

- File a complaint with the payment portal and ask whether the payment can be reversed.

- Leave a negative review on review portals such as Scamadviser, TrustPilot, OnlineThreatAlerts and SiteJabber
- Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
- Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
