Fake
Why Is SaiDeals Fake?
SaiDeals is a website that claims to be selling electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, smartwatches and AirPods. The astonishing part is the prices that are being offered by this company. Discounts of more than 75% are being offered on products of premium brands like Apple and Samsung. Such unbelievable prices often signal a scam.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 24th September 2020 in Maharashtra, India. The registrant’s name and contact details have not been provided.
Though the website is just over a month old, the website footer claims that it has been active since 2018. This is clearly a lie. The website also makes several references to ‘Saimeddeals’, which makes no sense.
The content on the website seems to be copied too. The text in the About Us page has been lifted from the website of a legitimate store called The Chennai Mobiles (thechennaimobiles.com). The page also claims that SaiDeals has 20+ stores across the state, but I could not find evidence that there is any such chain of electronics stores.
In fact, the logo of the company itself has the wrong company name. The domain name is saideals.com and the website mentions ‘Sai Deals’ everywhere. However, the logo says ‘SaiDeal’. It is very weird for a company to get its own name wrong. This suggests the website is not run by professionals.
The contact details given on the website are an email ID and an address. The email ID is a free Gmail ID and not an official one. The address given is of an actual location in Mumbai, but there is no proof that SaiDeals has a store at the given address. Oddly, the Contact Us page of the website provides only the address.
SaiDeals does not seem to have a social media presence. I could not find any reviews for the website either, which is not surprising considering that it is new.
It seems extremely likely that SaiDeals is a scam. The website is of low-quality and does not seem to be operated by true professionals. The logo spells the company name as ‘SaiDeal’ instead of ‘SaiDeals’. Discounts of more than 75% for Apple and Samsung phones are being offered, which is too-good-to-be-true.
The content has been copied from a website called The Chennai Mobiles. The domain was registered in September 2020, but SaiDeals tells a lie that the website has been running since 2018.
SaiDeals claims to have more than 20 physical stores across Maharashtra, but there is no evidence that they have any physical stores at all. The address given on the website seems to be fake and the email ID is not an official one. It is advisable to avoid shopping on SaiDeals, as it does not seem to be a genuine store.
