Why is Reefresources-fm Fake?
Reefresources-fm (Reef Resources Financial Management) is a website that claims to generate profits for investors through trading stocks, forex, cryptocurrency and real estate trading. Each of these is a different trade and an unknown company claiming to have expertise in all of them is almost guaranteed to be a scam.
Reefresources-fm promises returns as mind-bogglingly high as 60% per month. Such returns are not realistic or sustainable and make it obvious that the website is a scam.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 18th February 2022. The registrant’s details portray Reefresources-fm as being operated from the US, but these details are fake and I will reveal why later in the article. Website traffic data shows that Reefresources-fm probably originates from Nigeria. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously, likely from a high-risk country.
Even though Reefresources-fm clearly did not exist before February 2022, it is falsely mentioned that the company is operating since 2020. There is absolutely nothing to indicate that this is true and therefore, it appears that Reefresources-fm is blatantly lying about the age of the company.
Reefresources-fm’s website is poorly made and appears to be created using a cheap template, as with most fake investment platforms. The entire content of the website has been copied and the same can be found on at least 254 other websites, all of which may be scams. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.
Another obvious indication of Reefresources-fm being a scam is the fact that the website is full of lies. The website owners claim that it is run by a company called Reef Resources LLC based in Seattle:
REEF RESOURCES Financial Management is a conglomerate of Reef Resources LLC, located in Seattle , Washington. The company was registered on 2004-08-31 with company number 602425294 with MYERS, ANDREW CHRISTOPHER as the CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
However, I found that Reef Resources LLC has been shut down and no longer exists. Therefore, Reefresources-fm is impersonating an inactive company to falsely appear legitimate.
The information given on the website about Reefresources-fm’s management team is fake too. I found that images and professional profiles copied from random sources have been presented as being the people who manage the company. The details are totally fake as no such people exist.
Reefresources-fm does not have a social media presence. There are no social media links given on the website and I couldn’t find any social media pages independently either.
The contact details given on the website are a Seattle address of the company Reefresources-fm is impersonating, a VoIP phone number for WhatsApp support and the email ID ‘info@reefresources-fm.com‘. As the website owners are using only anonymous methods to communicate, it appears that they are deliberately trying to hide their identity.
I found a few positive reviews for Reefresources-fm on Trustpilot and ScamAdviser, but they seem fake to me as the reviews have been written by new accounts with no profile pictures. Online reviews are notoriously easy to fake and considering that all the information on the website is false, it is highly possible that the reviews are written by the scammers themselves too. It seems pretty evident that Reefresources-fm and the 254 similar websites are incredibly likely to be scams operated from Nigeria. There are a number of signs suggesting Reefresources-fm is not a genuine trading and investment firm. The website is new and all the information given in it is fake.
The site is being operated anonymously since February 2022. All of the content on the website is copied and the same text can be found on at least 254 other websites, all of which may be scams. Fake information has been provided for the domain registration as I found that Reefresources-fm is impersonating named a company named Reef Resources LLC that is no longer is business. The details about the company’s management team are fake too as the people don’t exist in real life.
Reefresources-fm has no social media presence and can only be contacted anonymously by email and WhatsApp. The reviews found on Trustpilot and ScamAdviser are likely to be written by the scammers themselves.
It is advisable to avoid investing with Reefresources-fm or the 254 similar sites as there are no reasons to believe that they are genuine trading and investment firms. As a general rule, never send crypto to strangers as it cannot be recovered.

- File a complaint with the payment portal. However, investment scammers mostly use methods such as Bitcoin, Western Union, MoneyGram and other untraceable methods which make refunds impossible.

- Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
- Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
- If the company has a listing on Google My Business or Google Maps, file a complaint using the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Also, leave a negative review explaining what kind of experience you had.
- Report the scam site to web filtering companies.
