Why is Reahly Fake?

Reahly (reahly.shop) is a website that appears to be selling kitchen gadgets at low prices. The website is an obvious scam as there are hidden product listings for items that aren’t available for purchase. For example, Reahly is advertising a ‘Steampunk Industrial Table’ for $35.99 on Facebook. However, the product page is not accessible directly via the website and the images are likely stolen from a genuine artist and customers will probably receive cheap copies created in China.

The table is being advertised by what appears to be a hacked page called ‘Anil Akela ji’ created in 2014. The page contains the information of a Chinese company along with a Chinese phone number. It links to dealnewcoupon.com which redirects back to reahly.shop. Therefore, it seems apparent that Reahly is a Chinese website being advertised through a shady Facebook page.

Though the Facebook page was created in 2014, the oldest post on the page is from January 30, 2023. This may mean that the reahly.shop has only been active since January 2023, making it a new website.

A domain name lookup of the website strangely does not provide any information as the registration data was strangely irretrievable from the data base. However, the DNS information shows that the mail server is a Chinese blog ‘xqkj.top’ and that the site has been created using Shoplazza, which is a Chinese ecommerce platform similar to Shopify. Therefore, Reahly is a new website being run anonymously from a high-risk country.

Upon analyzing the website’s content, I discovered that the text on the About Us page has been copied and is used on at least 213 other websites, all of which are likely to be scams. Qti.Ai’s Scami uncovered 115 additional sites using this text too, adding up to a total of 328 related websites which are likely to be scams. Despite multiple indications that Reahly is a Chinese operation, the T&C page states that the site operates as per the laws of the UK. The following company details have been provided:

The same company details can be found on several other websites, indicating that there are numerous websites related to Reahly that appear to be part of a scam network. When I looked up the ownership information of Supic Company Limited, I found that the company was registered in April 2020 and is owned by a Hong Kong-based company named Le Xin Lei Limited. Therefore, this company may possibly be a shell incorporation being used to launder the proceeds of scams from North America and Europe to China.

While testing the checkout process, I found that Reahly has limited the order amount per purchase to $50. A shipping charge of $99,999 is automatically applied when a third item is added. A new and unknown website actively discouraging customers from buying more is incredibly strange. It is likely to be a tactic to avoid fraud detection by credit card companies.

It is also noteworthy that the website claims to offer PayPal for payments but only credit cards are accepted when you try to make a purchase. This shows that the site is not run by professionals.

The Contact Us page of the website also carries the information of Supic Company Limited registered in the UK. The only contact detail for support is the email ID ‘info@reahly.shop‘.

It is evident that Reahly and the 329 similar sites are all likely to be scams operated by Chinese cybercrime networks under the guise of Supic Company Limited registered in the UK.

Reahly is a new site created anonymously from China in January 2023. The website owners have obscured the site’s Chinese origin and are claiming that it is managed by a UK-based business called Supic Company Limited. However, this company seems to be registered under the name of Hong Kong-based company and was previously registered in the name of the Chinese national.

All the content on the website is copied. The product listings are likely to have been stolen from genuine businesses and it is possible that the site is selling counterfeits as the prices are too low.

Reahly seems to be using a hacked Facebook pages for advertising on Facebook and Instagram. The Facebook page contains the information of a Chinese company. Only an email ID is provided for support and no real customer reviews are available.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Reahly or any of the 329 similar websites as they do not seem to be genuine businesses.

If you think that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be located in the UK.
