Why Is Global Line Express Fake?

Global Line Express (globalinexpress.com) is supposedly the website of a shipping company. I was alerted about it by a reader who contacted me to say that they have been scammed. It seems to be a fake shipping company associated with various different scams that involve the delivery of items.

The modus operandi is to direct customers to this website to track their package. The fake delivery company will then ask for various fees such as clearance and insurance to be paid using Bitcoin. Once the payment is made, they will simply ask for more fees and the order is never delivered.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 24th October 2020. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden using a paid service. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously.

whois

The website is extremely shabby. Even the website’s URL is nonsense as it says ‘Globa Lin Express’ instead of ‘Global Line Express’.

It is evident that the website has not been created by professionals. The About Us page of the website contains the following text:

Global line express is a full service global transportation provider for general parcel deliveries irrespective of the sizes.

With superior customer support and documentation processing, we also provide a round the clock inland trucking and pickup to ports to ensure an expedited delivery. With over 20 years of expertise, we excel in fast transit time, low rates, reliability, responsiveness, and scope of operations.

Start shipping now with instant access to the best possible discounts from us an from a host of our international shipping partners and more. No coding or volume requirements.

Not only is it falsely mentioned that Global Line Express has 20 years of expertise, but this text has also been copied from various websites of legitimate shipping companies.

I found that there are at least three other scammy websites using the same text, the names of which are given at the end of the article.

The same page also says that the company offers ‘discrete delivery services’ that require ‘refundable’ fees to be paid. This is a hint at the Advance Fee Scam that this website is engaged in.

Important details such as the registered company name and address are missing on the website. Global Line Express does not seem to have a social media presence either.

The contact details given on the website are a phone number, a WhatsApp number and an email address. The email address ‘info@globalinexpress.com’ was found to be invalid when tested.

The phone numbers carry the country code of the USA, but both have the area codes of different states. They are also both virtual numbers that can be operated from anywhere in the world. Therefore, there is no reason to believe that Global Line Express is an American company.

The WhatsApp number has a stock shipping logo as the profile picture. This is another indication that Global Line Express is not a real company as it does not even have a proper logo.

There are reviews for Global Line Express on various different sites and all their victims have described the same scam. The company asks for fees under the promise of delivering products but disappears with the money.

Conclusion

It is quite obvious that Global Line Express is a scam. It is the website of a fake delivery company where victims are asked to pay advance fees for delivering packages that never arrive.

The website has been created in October 2020 and is being operated anonymously. It does not contain any company information such as the registered name and address.

The content on the website has been copied from the sites of various legitimate shipping companies. At least three other dubious websites were found to be using the same text.

The text on the website also states that the company has 20 years of expertise even though the domain name was registered just a few months ago.

Global Line Express does not have a social media presence. The email address provided is fake. The phone numbers given appear to be operated from the USA, but they are virtual numbers that can be operated from anywhere in the world. Therefore, it is highly likely that the scammers running this website may not be located in America at all. Both the phone numbers also carry area codes of different states.

All the reviews I could find are negative and victims have stated that the company asked them for various ‘refundable’ fees but never delivered the packages or refunded the money.

It should also be noted that they demand payment using Bitcoin. This is an extremely unsafe payment method as transactions cannot be tracked or reversed.

If you are trying to purchase something online and are directed to Global Line Express’ website, you can be sure that you are being scammed.
