FreshersWorld is a website which provides job listings for newly-graduated candidates. Registration on the website is free but they have paid services which provide access to exclusive listings. The jobs being listed seem to be unique and not copied from other sites
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 29th June 2000 in Karnataka, India. The organization name has been given as Cassius Technologies. I was able to confirm using the Wayback Machine that the portal has indeed been active since the past 20 years.
The website mentions the name of core team members. I was able to confirm using LinkedIn that these people are associated with the company.
FreshersWorld has a strong social media presence across multiple channels and all the pages seem to be active. The phone number provided on the LinkedIn page was shown as belonging to a person associated with the company when checking using TrueCaller.
I came across one suspicious thing on the website. There are several different email addresses provided on the contact page and social media pages. Most of them seem to be unable to receive emails or are inactive.
I was able to reach out to FreshersWorld on Twitter. When I questioned why the email IDs were not working, I received a response that most of the IDs have migrated to a TeamLease domain and might have been failed to be updated on the FreshersWorld. TeamLease is the parent company of FreshersWorld and I found the reasoning to be plausible.
There are several reviews of FreshersWorld available online, especially on MouthShut. It has a rating of 2.47 out of 5 stars from 1,855 votes. Many reviews say that they received irrelevant job listings which were either of random profiles or from far away locations. There are also quite a few reviews indicating that there have been successful placements made through the company.
After considering all the available information, it does not seem that FreshersWorld is a scam. The portal has been active for two decades. Though the reviews are mixed, it is expected with such a service. They have an active social media presence and were responsive to my queries.
FreshersWorld is targeting a particular segment of the job seeker market, which is fresh graduates. For candidates looking for their first job, FreshersWorld might be able to provide more relevant opportunities.
Job seekers should keep in mind that no recruiting company or job listing portal can guarantee a placement. It would be wise to first see what kind of job offers they have on the free platform before considering purchasing a plan. It is also advisable to look at premium plans of better-known platforms as they could provide better value.
