Why is ERP Platinum Recovery Fake?

YouTube video

ERP Platinum Recovery (platinumrecoveryserv.com) claims to be a ‘recovery agency’ capable of getting back funds from investment scammers, including cryptocurrency. As I have written previously, cryptocurrency is nearly impossible to recover, which makes promises by new and unknown companies highly dubious.

I found this website being promoted on Quora by a fake account. “Alexander Jack” has a fake-sounding name, is using a fake profile image, is a 50+ yr old man who graduated in 2000 and only posts about one thing – a “crypto recovery” service called ERP. Therefore, it is obvious that platinumrecoveryserv.com is a scam.

  • real person who the scammer is impersonating

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 18th May 2022. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact information have been hidden using a paid service. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously from an unknown country.

whois

The overall quality of the website is extremely poor and it is apparent that the site was not created by professionals. Important documentation such as the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are missing. I found that all the content on the website is copied. Most of it is stolen from the website of a “chargeback” service called Action Refund, which seems to be a company registered in Isreal. I found that the same text is used on at least 16 other websites, all of which are likely to be scams. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.

ERP Platinum Recovery’s website contains testimonials from happy clients, but they are clearly fake as these people don’t exist in real life. The testimonials have been written by the scammers themselves.

The website is run completely anonymously as not even the name of a single team member is mentioned anywhere. ERP Platinum Recovery does not have a social media presence. The contact information given on the website includes an address, email ID and a phone number.

I found that the address provided is likely to be fake as it is incomplete and there is no evidence that ERP Platinum Recovery has an office there. The phone number is possibly a virtual line that can be operated from anywhere in the world. Therefore, ERP Platinum Recovery can only be contacted by anonymous methods.

Conclusion

It seems quite apparent that ERP Platinum Recovery (platinumrecoveryserv) and the 16 similar sites are likely to be fake crypto recovery agencies trying to scam people who have already been scammed. The site is being operated anonymously since May 2022 and there is no proof that it is a real company.

The website is of poor quality and contains copied content. The same content can be found on at least 16 other websites, all of which may be scams. Important documentation such as the Privacy Policy and ToS are missing, making it obvious that ERP Platinum Recovery is not a professional operation.

ERP Platinum Recovery does not have a social media presence and the contact details provided show that it is likely to be a scam operation run by international scammers. The address provided is most likely fake and the phone number seems to be a virtual line.

No reviews for ERP Platinum Recovery could be found online. It is advisable to avoid hiring the services of ERP Platinum Recovery or any of the 16 similar websites as there is no reason to believe that they are legitimate crypto recovery companies.

If you have been a victim of a money recovery scam, you can take the following steps:

  1. File a complaint with the payment portal. However, recovery scammers mostly use cryptocurrency which makes getting a refund impossible.
  2. File a formal police complaint with the Cybercrime department.
  3. Leave a negative review on review portals such as ScamAdviser and TrustPilot
  4. Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
  5. Give a low rating to the website on Web of Trust. You can also install their extension for the same.
  6. If the company has a listing on Google My Business or Google Maps, file a complaint using the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Also, leave a negative review explaining what kind of experience you had.
