Is Drasony Fake or Real?

Fake

Why Is Drasony Fake?

Drasony is a Shopify store that claims to be selling a fluffy bed linen set for ยฃ29.90. Judging by the price being in GBP, it can be assumed that the site is targeting consumers in the UK.

The same product is available for AliExpress for no less than ยฃ61.32, which means Drasony is offering the product at a 51% discount. Such vast price differences are often the most obvious sign of a scam.

The website has a banner which says that Drasony is holding a โ€˜Launch Offerโ€™ on the product that ends at midnight. No time zone has been mentioned and neither is there a timer, which leads me to believe that this banner only exists to create a false sense of urgency.

Though the bedding set appears to be the only product on the entire website, this is not the case. The website also has hidden pages which have products such as incense burners. Confusingly, the listing is in French and the price is higher than competitors.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 24th December 2020. The registrantโ€™s details such as name, location and contact details have been hidden for privacy using a paid service. Therefore, it is a new website that is being operated anonymously.

The website has a page called โ€˜Our Historyโ€™ that contains copied content lifted from the website of a Quebec-based company called G.Dโ€™AOUST & CIE. The same text can be found on at least 3 other websites, all of which may be scams. The list is given at the end of the article.

The website has 1,417 reviews for the bedding set. These reviews are quite obviously fake as they are dated much before Drasonyโ€™s website was even created.

While there are no social media pages mentioned on the website itself, I found that Drasony has two Facebook pages. One page mentions the shop as โ€˜Permanently Closedโ€™. This page has one review where the user is accusing it of being a scam.

The other page is operated from Canada (instead of the UK, which is the market Drasony is targeting) and was previously named Dode Pro. All the posts on this page have angry reactions, probably because they have disabled the feature allowing users to write reviews. They might also be deleting negative reviews.

There are no contact details provided on the Contact Us page. The only way to get in touch is using a contact form. The Privacy Policy page contains an email ID, but there is no other information such as an address or phone number anywhere else on the website.

The Return Policy page of the website contains an email ID of a completely different website called dodepro.com, which is the same name as the Facebook page mentioned earlier. Therefore, it is quite possible that Dode Pro might be a related scam of Drasony.

Update

After publishing the article, I received several comments from customers of Drasony that they feel they have been scammed. All email sent to them bounced back and one of their customers shared the image of the product they received, which is nothing like what was advertised.

It seems extremely likely that Drasony and the 4 related websites might all be scams. The bedding set being sold on the website is heavily discounted at 51% to 60% compared to AliExpress. Such a price is too good to be true and is a huge red flag that Drasony might be a scam.

The content on the websiteโ€™s About Us page is copied from that of a real Canadian brand called G.Dโ€™AOUST & CIE. The same content can be found on at least 3 other websites, all of which may be scams.

The site also has hidden pages where the content is in French, even though the website has prices in GBP which implies that it is targeting a UK audience.

There are thousands of reviews published on the website, but these are quite clearly fake. These are shown as being written around a year back, even though Drasony is just over a month old.

Though there are no social media pages mentioned on the website, Drasony actually has two Facebook pages. One of these pages has been renamed as โ€˜Drason-yโ€™ from โ€˜Dode Proโ€™, which seems to be a related scam. This is because Drasonyโ€™s website also provides an email ID of dodepro.com. The page is being operated from Canada instead of the UK.

The only way to contact Drasony is by using email. There is no phone number or address given and there is not even a return address.

The only customer reviews available is on the โ€˜Drasonyโ€™ Facebook page, where a customer has stated that it is a scam. On the โ€˜Drason-yโ€™ Facebook page, customers have left angry reactions to their posts, presumably because reviews are disabled and comments are deleted.

After publishing the article, I received several complaints from Drasonyโ€™s customers that they are unable to reach customer service as the emails bounce back. A customer who received a product shared an image showing that it is not as advertised.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Drasony or any of the related websites, as they do not appear to be genuine stores.
