Asset Management Company
Is BREC Fake or Real?
Why is BREC Fake?
BREC Asset Management (brec-am.com) claims to be an investment company that has been operating for a decade and provides investment strategies for clients.
BREC’s entire website is a lazy copy of the website of an American investment firm. There are at least 17 other websites that are using the same content and may all be scams. The list is given at the end of the article.
Even the images of the team members have been shamelessly lifted. The images have been flipped in a poor attempt to prevent being caught using a reverse image search.
A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 15th June 2021. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact information have been hidden using a paid service. Therefore, it is an almost brand-new website that is being operated anonymously.
Even though it is crystal clear that the website was created only a month back, BREC is blatantly lying that they have been in business for a decade. The footer of the website also has a fake 2020 copyright notice even though it did not exist before 2021.
The creators of this website are so lazy (or illiterate) that they have even left in a reference to the ‘castle logo’, even though BREC’s logo does not depict a castle.
Another hint of BREC not being a legitimate company can be seen on the Careers page. Even though multiple positions are listed, clicking ‘Apply Now’ redirects back to the home page.
No social media pages or client reviews for BREC could be found online. If you want to share your review, you can do so in the comments below or on my social media pages.
The contact details provided on BREC’s website include an email ID and Luxembourg address. Both of these are fake as the email ID does not work and the address belongs to a bank.
There are a number of signs indicating that BREC Asset Management is extremely likely to be a scam. It is a new website created in June 2021 that is being operated anonymously.
The entire site is cloned from that of a legitimate American investment firm. There are at least 17 other websites using the same content that may all be scams.
Even the images of the team members such as the CEO and COO have been copied directly and flipped in an attempt to prevent the original source from being found using a reverse image search.
Even though the domain registration data clearly shows that the site did not exist before June 2021, BREC falsely claims that it has been operating for a decade. Parts of the site also give other fake years such as 2018 and 2020.
The contact details provided are also fake as the email ID is invalid and the address is of a bank in Luxembourg. It is advisable to avoid investing with BREC Asset Management or any of the 17 similar sites, as the odds of them being scams are incredibly high.
