Why is Boxtradingfx Fake?

YouTube video

Boxtradingfx is a website that claims to be a crypto investment platform. The website states that users can ‘auto-trade cryptocurrency’ with ‘AI-powered crypto trading bots’. This makes it extremely likely that the site is a scam as these are common buzzwords used by cryptocurrency investment scammers. An advisory issued by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) titled ‘AI Won’t Turn Trading Bots into Money Machines‘ warns:

Fraudsters are exploiting public interest in artificial intelligence (AI) to tout automated trading algorithms, trade signal strategies, and crypto-asset trading schemes that promise unreasonably high or guaranteed returns. Don’t believe the scammers. AI technology can’t predict the future or sudden market changes.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 12th November 2023. The registrant’s details such as name and contact details have been hidden using a privacy guard. Therefore, Boxtradingfx is a new website that is being operated anonymously from an unknown country.

whois

The website is poorly made and appears to be created using a cheap template, as with most fake investment platforms. Boxtradingfx claims to be registered in Australia, Cyprus and the USA, however, all the company information provided is fake.

Firstly, a poorly edited UK Companies House certificate has been presented as a USA company registration certificate. This itself is enough to prove that Boxtradingfx is a fictional organization. The address mentioned in the certificate does not exist either.

Further, Boxtradingfx claims to be ‘trading as Fxproactivity’ but the same claim is made by several other websites, all of which are likely to be scams. The list of sites is given at the end of the article.

I also found that the ACN number is invalid when I checked it in the Australia Business Register.

Additionally, a wrong company name is mentioned in one of the pages, providing further evidence that the entire content on the website has been copied.

The website contains absolutely no legitimate information and even the testimonials on the website are fake. The same reviews are written on other websites and the photos of the reviewers are free stock images.

Boxtradingfx does not have a social media presence as the links given on the website lead nowhere. The following contact details are mentioned on the website:

2521 Del Dew Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20901, United States
+1 (540)729-0264
support@boxtradingfx.com

The USA address is completely fake as no such location exists. The phone number has the area code of Virginia even though the address given is of Maryland. The name shows up as ‘Rosalia Pribble’ on Truecaller and is therefore likely to be a random phone number. Therefore, there is no reason to believe that Boxtradingfx is operated from the USA.

I could not find any reviews for Boxtradingfx on sites like ScamAdviser and Trustpilot. If you want to share your review of this platform, you can do so in the comments below or on my social media pages.

Conclusion

It seems evident that Boxtradingfx and the 45+ similar websites are likely to be scams. There are several signs suggesting Boxtradingfx is not a genuine investment platform. The website is new and is being operated anonymously. Boxtradingfx claims that you can generate profits by using their ‘automated trading bots’ to trade crypto and sites which make such claims are often scams.

Unknown owners are running the site since November 2023 and there is nothing to suggest that it is a legitimate business. I discovered 45+ other websites similar to Boxtradingfx which may all be scams, many of which are completely identical. All the information on the website is fake and copied, including the company registration information and client reviews.

Boxtradingfx has no social media presence and a fake USA address has been provided. The phone number also seems to be fake as a random name is displayed in Truecaller. No reviews for the platform could be found online.

It is advisable to avoid investing with Boxtradingfx or the 45+ similar sites as there are strong reasons to believe that they are not genuine investment platforms. As a general rule, never send crypto to strangers as it cannot be recovered.

  3. Leave a negative review on review portals such as ScamAdviser and TrustPilot.
  4. Report the website to Google using the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome
