Why is Afterallca Fake?

Afterallca.com is a website that claims to be selling mass-produced Chinese clothing such as hoodies and sweaters at discounts. The website looks like another scam shop set up under the Uniqueness Scam Network of Chinese shopping scam websites due to various reasons, including the product pictures and information being copied from Aliexpress.

A domain name lookup of the website shows that it was registered on 17th April 2023. The registrant’s details such as name, location and contact details have not been provided. However, there are multiple indications of the site being operated from China. Therefore, Afterallca is a new website being run anonymously from a high-risk country.

The About Us page contains the same text as websites associated with the Uniqueness Scam Network and upon analyzing the content, I found that there are at least 185 similar websites, all of which are likely to be scams. The list of websites is given at the end of the article.

The Terms and Conditions page states that the site operates as per the laws of the UK and the below company information has been provided:

Company Name: SAYHI INTERNATIONAL CO., LIMITED
Company Address: 102a Liverpool Road, Cadishead, Manchester, England, M44 5AN

Sayhi International Co., Limited appears to be a shell company registered from China as the owner is a Chinese-national named Lijian Liu and the Company Secretary is a Chinese-owned firm named Yunma Tianlong International Consulting Co., Limited. This company is associated with more than 9,150 companies registered in the UK and is presumably a firm that helps Chinese companies set up overseas incorporations.

Though there are no social media pages linked on the website, I found that Afterallca is being promoted on Facebook and Instagram through a dubious Facebook page called ‘Top Gadgets’. The page is listed as a ‘Game Publisher, Department Store’ and provides a fake address which is the location of a residence in Maryland, United States.

The page information shows that it is managed from India, Bangladesh and United States but there is a high probability that it is actually managed from China.

There are no contact details given on the website except for the email ID ‘customerservices@afterallca.com‘. Uniqueness websites have a poor reputation for customer service, therefore the email ID is practically useless.

I could only find one review for Afterallca. The review was posted on Facebook and the user has stated that the page promotes scams.

As the site seems to be operated by the Uniqueness Scam Network, customers can expect false advertising, products being shipped from China, late or no delivery, poor customer service and refusal to provide refunds. It is apparent that Afterallca and the 185 similar sites are all likely to be scams operated by Chinese cybercrime networks under the façade of Sayhi International Co., Limited registered in the UK.

Afterallca is a new site created anonymously in April 2023. The website owners have obscured the site’s Chinese origin and are claiming that it is managed by a UK-based business named Sayhi International Co., Limited. However, Sayhi International Co., Limited has been found to be a shell company created from China and is associated with numerous fake online shops.

Even though there are multiple signs that Afterallca is a Chinese website, there is a statement in the T&C that the site operates as per UK laws.

Afterallca’s website contains content that is duplicated on numerous Chinese scam shops. I found that there are at least 185 websites using the same content as Afterallca and are likely to be operated by the same fraudsters.

Afterallca is being promoted on Facebook and Instagram through a dubious Facebook page called ‘Top Gadgets’. Only an email ID is provided for support and the only review I found stated that the page Top Gadget promotes scams. The address provided on the page is fake as it is the location of a residence in Maryland, USA.

It is advisable to avoid shopping on Afterallca and the 185 similar sites as they do not seem to be genuine businesses.

If you think that you have been scammed by any of these sites, you can contact your bank for a full refund. Don’t accept a partial refund citing that the product is not what you ordered and refuse to ship the items back to China as the merchant claims to be located in the UK.
